2020.10.20 03:54 BakaSandwich Chakras Explained - Spiritual Awakening

Chakras Yoga Balance - Spiritial Awakening

Muladhara, the Root chakra

Om bhur [aum bur] (Om and salutations to the earth plane/first chakra)
Om nama shivaya [aum nam-ha shi-whyah] (Calling in all the elements under conscious control for grounding: earth, water, fire, air, ether)
Affirmations: I am
I trust
I am supported
I am safe to be myself
I ground down to rise up
Element: Earth
Governs: grounding in physical plane, feeling safe, survival, primal energy, intentionality
Feet, pelvis, reproductive issues, coccyx
Blocked by: Fear. What are you afraid of?
Symptoms to watch for:
Excessive anger
Eating disorders
Psychology of Scarcity
Tendency to Somatize
Tips to heal:
Reconnect with the earth
Anchor yourself in your environment
Physical activity
Take care of immediate needs
Develop feeling of self-reliance
Introspection to discover true aspirations
Moving from material to inner abundance
Base decisions on trust instead of fear
When Open: You'll feel safe, secure, stable, fearless, trusting, and connected to the Earth as well as to friends, family, partners, and coworkers.
The body's primordial energy center. Its focus is the awareness, comfort, and care of your physical body. Understanding who you are and how to operate your body allows you to be present in physical mastery.
The kundalini shakti is said to sleep here, waiting to be aroused and brought back up to Brahman, the source from which it originated.
Law of One: Red Ray, Malkuth, the Earth vibratory complex
Firstly, the basic energy of so-called red ray. This ray may be understood to be the basic strengthening ray for each density. It shall never be condescended to as less important or productive of spiritual evolution, for it is the foundation ray.
The first balancing is of the Malkuth, or Earth, vibratory energy complex, called the red-ray complex. An understanding and acceptance of this energy is fundamental.
The red-ray body is your chemical body. However, it is not the body which you have as clothing in the physical. It is the unconstructed material of the body, the elemental body without form. This basic unformed material body is important to understand for there are healings which may be carried out by the simple understanding of the elements present in the physical vehicle.

Svadhishthana, the Sacral chakra

Literally "the residence of the self" or "where your being is established."
"Swa" means self and "adhishthana" means established.
Located at root of the sexual organ at the base of the spine, two finger-widths above the Muladhara
The kshetram is in front of the body, barely below the belly button.
Seed syllable: Vam
Sanskrit mantras:
Om bhuvaha [aum bu-vah-hah] (Om and salutations to the atmospheric plane/second chakra)
Om vyava sayaya namaha [aum vyah-vah sah-yah-yah] (Invoking determination to be successful in efforts leading to self-mastery)
Affirmations: I feel
I am creator
I am open to receive
I feel deeply
Element: Water
Governs: Sensitivity, sensuality, expressing needs, letting go, emotional balance, creativity, desire
Spleen, urinary tract, uterus, ovaries, blood sugar
Blocked by: Guilt. What do you blame yourself for?
Blockages cause: being out of touch with emotions, being unable to let things go, sexually closed off or low libido
When open: feelings are generated and expressed naturally, you feel empowered to create and share from a place of openness, you may take more risks and allow that momentum to carry you forward into greater spaces of balance and unique outer expression.
The energy center linked to creativity, receptivity, passion, sensuality, and emotions
Contains unconscious desires, especially sexual desire.
It is said that to raise the kundalini shakti above Svadhishthana is difficult
Law of One: Orange Ray, Emotional/Personal complex
The next energy complex which may be blocked is the emotional or personal complex, also known as the orange-ray complex. This blockage will often demonstrate itself as personal eccentricities or distortions with regard to self-conscious understanding or acceptance of self.
The orange ray is that influence or vibratory pattern wherein the mind/body/spirit expresses its power on an individual basis. Thus power over individuals may be seen to be orange ray. This ray has been quite intense among your peoples on an individual basis. You may see in this ray the treating of other-selves as non-entities, slaves, or chattel, thus giving other-selves no status whatever.
The orange-ray body is the physical body complex. This body complex is still not the body you inhabit but rather the body formed without self-awareness, the body in the womb before the spirit/mind complex enters. This body may live without the inhabitation of the mind and spirit complexes. However, it seldom does so.

Manipura, the Naval/Solar Plexus chakra

Literally "lustrous/resplendent gem"
Located either the naval region or slightly below the solar plexus, along the spine
Seed syllable: Ram
Sanskrit Mantras:
Om swaha [aum swah-hah] (Om and salutations to the solar region/third chakra)
Om Suryaya namaha [aum soor-yah-yah nah-mah-hah] (Ode to the sun/solar power inside you)
Affirmations: I do
I am strong and powerful
I radiate light
I am the central sun of my universe
I am enough
I manifest my reality
Element: Fire
Governs: personal power, courage, excitement, motivation, vital energy,
Metabolism, pancreas, stomach, liver, gall bladder, bile, small intestine
Blocked by: shame. What are your greatest disappointments/letdowns in yourself?
Blockages cause: feeling drained, internal battery will have less power, you may feel anxiety and confusion about your path, or unable to make decisions.
When open: You feel motivated, energized, and capable of manifesting what you desire on the physical plane.
Manipura is your center for vitality and strength, connection to purpose, and is associated with fire and the power of transformation. It is said to govern digestion and metabolism as the home of Agni. Weak Agni (fire) leads to incompletely digested food, thoughts and emotions, and is a source of ama (toxicity).
Manipura is considered the center of dynamism, energy, will power, and achievement, which radiates prana throughout the entire human body.
Law of One: Yellow Ray
The third blockage resembles most closely that which you have called ego. It is [in] the yellow-ray or solar plexus center. Blockages in this center will often manifest as distortions towards power, manipulation, and other social behaviors concerning those close and those associated with the mind/body/spirit complex.
ray of self-awareness and interaction
The next foundation ray is yellow. This is the great stepping stone ray. At this ray the mind/body potentiates to its fullest balance. The strong red/orange/yellow triad springboards the entity into the center ray of green. This is again a basic ray but not a primary ray. This is the resource for spiritual work. When green ray has been activated we find the third primary ray being able to begin potentiation. This is the first true spiritual ray in that all transfers are of an integrated mind/body/spirit nature.
The yellow ray is a focal and very powerful ray and concerns the entity in relation to, shall we say, groups, societies, or large numbers of mind/body/spirit complexes. This yellow-ray vibration is at the heart of bellicose actions in which one group of entities feel the necessity and right of dominating other groups of entities and bending their wills to the wills of the masters. The negative path [of 'polarization'/spiritual development] uses a combination of the yellow ray and the orange ray in its polarization patterns. These rays, used in a dedicated fashion, will bring about a contact with intelligent infinity.
[Associated with] self-conscious manifestations of a social nature as well as individual
The usual nature of sexual interaction, if one is yellow or orange in primary vibratory patterns, is one of blockage and then insatiable hunger due to the blockage. When there are two selves vibrating in this area, the potential for [negative] polarization through the sexual interaction is begun, one entity experiencing the pleasure of humiliation and slavery or bondage, the other experiencing the pleasure of mastery and control over another entity. In this way a sexual energy transfer of a negative polarity is experienced.
The yellow-ray body is your physical vehicle which you know of at this time and in which you experience catalyst. This body has the mind/body/spirit characteristics and is equal to the physical illusion.

Anahata, the Heart chakra

Literally "unhurt/unstruck/unbeaten"
Can mean "sound produced without touching two parts" and at the same time "pure" or "clean/stainless"
The name of this chakra signifies the state of freshness that appears when we are able to become detached and to look at the different and apparently contradictory experiences of life with a state of openness (expansion). At the Anahata chakra appears the possibility to integrate the two opposite forces and obtain the effect (sound, in this case), without the two forces being confronted (without touching of the two parts). This energy is specific to cooperation and integration, which brings peace and a new perspective in a world which, up to this level (considering only the energies specific to the first three centers of force: Muladhara, Svadhishthana and Manipura) was made only of a more or less conscious confrontation between opposite forces. The name Anahata suggests, in fact, the synergetic effect of the interaction of energies at this level.
Located at the central channel of the spine, near the heart
It is described as a tiny flame inside the heart.
Seed syllable: Yam
Sanskrit Mantras:
Om maha [aum mah-hah] (Om and salutations to the first spiritual region beyond the sun/fourth chakra)
Om tare tuttare ture soha [aum tah-reh too-tah-reh too-reh so-hah] (Calling upon compassion and divine love)
Affirmations: I am love
My heart space is harmonious
I love myself with compassion
All love resides within me
I am Loved
Element: Air
Governs: heart, stubbornness, balance, sharing, coping skills, narcissism,
Lungs, allergies, circulation, lymph and immune systems, blood pressure
Blocked by: Grief. What are you sad about?
Blockages cause: Judgements, fears, disappointments, needless suffering, and attitudes of victimization
When open: If you are anchored in unconditional love for yourself, your heart chakra vibration can radiate and begin to heal your physical body, and can heal others too.
The gateway to the soul. Home to your amorous energies, this is where gratitude, compassion, patience, acceptance, joy, and Love reside. This center is a sacred space that connects you to all living things.
Anahata is associated with the ability to make decisions outside the realm of karma. In Manipura and below, man is bound by the laws of karma and fate. In Anahata one makes decisions ("follows one's heart") based on one's higher self, not the unfulfilled emotions and desires of lower nature. It is also associated with love and compassion, charity to others, and psychic healing.
Law of One: Green Ray, the Center of Heart
Blockages in this area may manifest as difficulties in expressing universal love or compassion.
The green ray is the center from which third-density beings may springboard towards infinite intelligence. Blockages in this area may manifest as difficulties in expressing what you may call universal love or compassion.
In green/fourth ray [sexual energy transfers] there are two possibilities. Firstly, if both vibrate in green ray there will be a mutually strengthening energy transfer, the negative or female, as you call it, drawing the energy from the roots of the beingness up through the energy centers, thus being physically revitalized; the positive or male polarity finding in this energy transfer an inspiration which satisfies and feeds the spirit portion of the body/mind/spirit complex, thus both being polarized and releasing the excess of that which each has in abundance by nature of intelligent energy, that is, negative/intuitive, positive/physical energies as you may call them; this energy transfer being blocked only if one or both entities have fear of possession, of being possessed, of desiring possession or desiring being possessed.
The other green-ray possibility is that of one entity offering green-ray energy, the other not offering energy of the universal love energy, this resulting in a blockage of energy for the one not green ray, thus increasing frustration or appetite; the green-ray being polarizing slightly towards service to others.
The green-ray body is that body which may be seen in séance when what you call ectoplasm is furnished. This is a lighter body packed more densely with life. You may call this the astral body following some other teachings. Others have called this same body the etheric body. However, this is not correct in the sense that the etheric body is that body of gateway wherein intelligent energy is able to mold the mind/body/spirit complex.

Vishuddha, the Throat chakra

Literally "especially pure"
Located in the throat region, near the spine
The Kshetram is in the pit of the throat.
Seed syllable: Ham
Sanskrit Mantras:
Om janaha [aum jahn-ah-hah] (Om and salutations to the second spiritual region beyond the sun/fifth chakra)
Om mani padme hum [aum mah-nee pad-me hoom] (Opening up the abilities of expression, developing an attunement with the throat chakra)
It is very good to recite the mantra Om mani padme hum, but while you are doing it, you should be thinking of its meaning, for the meaning of the six syllables is great and vast...
The first, Om symbolizes the practitioner's impure body, speech, and mind; it also symbolizes the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha
The path of the middle way is indicated by the next four syllables. Mani, meaning jewel, symbolizes the factors of method: (the) altruistic intention to become enlightened, compassion, and love.
The two syllables, padme, meaning lotus, symbolize wisdom
Purity must be achieved by an indivisible unity of method and wisdom, symbolized by the final syllable hum, which indicates indivisibility
Thus the six syllables, om mani padme hum, mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha
Affirmations: I speak
I am free to express my truth
I deserve to be heard and understood
I speak with authenticity
Element: Akasha/EtheSound
Governs: communication (verbal, non-verbal, internal, external)
body balance, ears, sinus, endocrine system, respiratory system, thyroid, master glands
Blocked by: Lies. What are the lies you tell yourself? What are you in denial about?
Blockages cause: cascading effects in your entire chakra system, feeling lost for words, miscommunication and being misinterpreted, grinding teeth, earaches
When Open: Greater ability to turn your blueprints into reality, ability to express yourself in a healthy, honest way
Vishuddha chakra is known as the purification center, where the nectar amrita drips down from the Bindu chakra and is split into a pure form and a poison. In its most abstract form, it is associated with higher discrimination and is associated with creativity and self-expression. It is believed that when Vishuddha is closed, a person undergoes decay and death. When it is open, negative experiences are transformed into wisdom and learning.
The success and failure in one's life are said to depend upon the state of this chakra, whether it is polluted or clean. The feeling of being guilty is given as the most prominent reason for this chakra to block the Kundalini energy moving upwards.
Law of One: Blue Center
The blue-ray center of energy streaming is the center which, for the first time, is outgoing as well as inpouring.
Those blocked in this area may have difficulty in grasping the spirit/mind complexes of its own entity and further difficulty in expressing such understandings of self.
Entities blocked in this area may have difficulties in accepting communication from others.
The blue-ray energy transfer is somewhat rare among your people at this time but is of great aid due to energy transfers involved in becoming able to express the self without reservation or fear.
The light body or blue-ray body may be called the devachanic body. There are many other names for this body especially in your so-called Indian Sutras or writings, for there are those among these peoples which have explored these regions and understand the various types of devachanic bodies. There are many, many types of bodies in each density, much like your own.

Ajna, the Third Eye/Guru chakra

Literally "authority/command/perceive"
Located behind the center of the brow line, in the forehead
The kshetram is between the eyebrows
Seed syllable: Om
Sanskrit mantras:
Om tapaha [aum top-ah-hah] (Om and salutations to the fourth spiritual region beyond the sun/sixth chakra)
Om chandraya namaha [aum chahn-dra-yah nah-mah-hah] (Increases mental health and peace of mind, nervous system, ode to lunar energies)
Affirmations: I see
I am guided by my intuition
My third eye connects me to my flow
I see all that is with perfect clarity
Element: Light

Sahasrara, the Crown chakra

-In some systems, it extends several inches beyond the body along the top of the "subtle" spine.
-Seed syllable: Om
Om satyam [aum saht-yahm] (Om and salutations to the abode of supreme truth/seventh chakra)
Sahasrara im [sah-has-rah-rah eem] (invokes the power and consciousness of the crown chakra to descend)
I honor the divine aspects of myself
I am connected to infinite wisdom
I am peaceful, whole, and balanced
Blockages cause: headaches, fatigue, greed, materialism, disconnection, depression, boredom When open: enables a solid connection to your Higher Self, spiritual advancement, healthy hair The Portal to Divine Oneness, the Universe, and Cosmic Consciousness.
Often referred to as a thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness.
It is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate
When a yogi is able to raise his/her kundalini up to this point, the state of Nirvikalpa Samādhi is experienced.
The [last] center of energy influx is simply the total expression of the entity’s vibratory complex of mind, body, and spirit. It is as it will be, “balanced” or “imbalanced” has no meaning at this energy level, for it gives and takes in its own balance. Whatever the distortion may be, it cannot be manipulated as can the others and, therefore, has no particular importance in viewing the balancing of an entity.
[So basically, there is no "work" to be done on this chakra, according to Ra]

2020.10.20 03:27 UISAVAR Thunder Dragon, KoG October 2020.
My birthday was 10/01, the greatest gift was the lift of the 3 limit on ThunDraDark.
Deck is EXTREMELY powerful, able to amass some impressive turn 1 boards, and equally able to break boards.
Deck is also expensive. I’ll go over my choices:
3 Levianeer - card is BONKERS. Hand rip or non target destruction? All while triggering various effects? Don’t mind if we fucking do. Card is the heart and soul of the deck and without it the deck lacks REAL power.
3 Thunder Dragon Dark- Absolutely my favorite TDrag to resolve. Dump it for a search on your opponents turn, or synchro with it and search. I don’t like it at 2 because it minimizes your deck thinning in my opinion. 3 is nice because you will always have one to discard granted you don’t open with all three or even two :)
3 TD Hawk- Mulligan is cool but hardly comes up. We love discarding him for synchro material or bringing Duo out requiring your opponent to respond before he starts recycling your Levianeer or searching some TD’s for follow up plays.
3 TD Roar- I find him my least favorite however the utility this card offers with a 2400 body is perfect for what the deck wants to do. Spam without losing card advantage and win quick.
3 Sphere Kuriboh- Control your LP damage to procc D-Draw, dark for Levianeer and Duo. Protection from decks that can pump out an OTK if you brick, makes Shogunsaga less scary.
3 Raiden - Tuner of choice- set up ur GY, light body, win.
1 Dragonduo- perfect number, recyclable, revivable, instant pressure on your opponent because your advantage will start rolling.
1 GUB- If you open the nuts T1, which I did sometimes in my climb, ending on Zeta, Vermillion, and Levianeer handrip is enough to make people rage quit.
1 Jet Synchron- Similar to GUB, gets some dead shit out ya hand if ya gotta. I’d drop him if I wasn’t obsessed with it.
2 CotLB- Mill. search your best and pretty much only NS.
1 Melody - search Levianeer while dumping dead cards. My fav to open with this going first to have 1 Levi to hand rip and one to pop for your opponents follow up.
Extra is standard. I chose to not use Force Focus because it is situational at best whereas all these synchros came up multiple times.
This decks strength comes from its ability to absolutely EXPLODE, it’s consistency is questionable, however DDraw alleviates that. I had not wanted to try KoG until my Dragons came back to me, and I was not disappointed.

2020.10.04 07:43 GeorgeT93 Sharing some game-specific backgrounds for DraStic

Sharing some game-specific backgrounds for DraStic
Hi everyone!
I've created some more backgrounds for DraStic. These are meant to be used with specific games. I was mainly focusing on the Pokemon games, but also made some for a few other games that my wife or I play, so now that I've finished up this batch, I figured I'd share them in case anyone else may find them useful. Most are available in landscape and portrait, and several are available with alternate button versions (typically image-matching buttons as well as solid colored ones).
Landscape Game-Specific Backgrounds:
Landscape example
These use a resolution of 2250x1080 and have worked fine on my S8+ and Note20 Ultra. Some games are best configured with the touch screen on the right (larger) screen (like the Professor Layton games), however with other games (like the regular Pokemon games), I've found that it works best with the touch screen configured on the left (smaller) screen. Of course, you're free to configure the screens to whatever best suits you for each game.
Portrait Game Backgrounds:
Portrait Example
These come in 3 slightly different configurations, 2 of which do feature Samsung Note graphics.
The 'standard' configuration uses a resolution of 1080x2220 (based on a Samsung S8+ screen, but should work on any screen with a similar aspect ratio). There is no phone 'branding' graphics on this version. There is no bezel between the screens as they are just meant to be 'stacked' on top of one another for these backgrounds.

(NOTE: The next 2 versions were designed for use on my Note 20 Ultra. As such, they do contain a Samsung Note graphic.)
The first 'Note' version is 'seamless', so there is no bezel between the screens as they are just meant to be 'stacked' on top of one another for these backgrounds.
The alternate 'Note' version is the 'mid-bezel' variant, which contains a bezel placed between the top and bottom screen areas to mimic the hinge/bezel gap on a physical DS.

Included Game-Specific Backgrounds:
  • Air Traffic Chaos
  • AMF Bowling Pinbusters!
  • Animal Crossing Wild World
  • Build-a-lot
  • Cake Mania (Generic for any Cake Mania game)
  • Cooking Mama (Generic for any Cooking Mama game)

2020.09.16 05:47 CdogHusk In Legends, the Bothans' entire society was based on a book called "The Way," like "The Art of War." There exists no canon on it, so I wrote it, and every week I give my players a new chapter. Here it is.

Context: "The Way" is a book from Legends, which all of Bothan life is based on. I had a player very interested in this, so I wrote a version of it that combines various philosophies, from the Art of War to Musashi's Book of Five Rings, as well as the "48 Laws of Power" and so on. In the course of the game they befriended a Bothan politician who gave them a rare copy of this book, and so there are rewards for them reading it.
Do not worry, these chapters are short and colorful and NOT required reading. But at the end of some of the chapters, I reward the players with a little extra boost die to things like Negotiation and such.
So here it is, if you guys ever want to share it with your players. Again, while this is a long post, you would only dole out one small chapter at a time.
By Golm Fervse’dra
PART I. LAYING PLANS (the Nine Observations)
First Observation: If Bothans are to endure for All Eternity, they must know the Way. The art of conflict is of vital importance to the State. But conflict may be any sort of conflict—it may be violent, and it may also be peaceful, but if what One wants cannot be achieved by peaceful means, then the only recourse will be violent. While this is not desirable, it is nevertheless inevitable. It is the Way. And the Way is a philosophy that can be applied to war, politics, business, and all forms of strategy.
Second Observation: The study of the Way is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which on no account can be neglected.
Third Observation: The Way, then, is governed by five constant factors, which are to be taken into account in One’s deliberations: (1) Moral Law, (2) The Heavens, (3) The Ground, (4) The Commander, and (5) Method and Discipline. I will divulge the meaning of each of these in the next chapter.
Fourth Observation: All conflict is based on Deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far; when we are far, we must make him think we are near; when we are strong, he must think us weak; when we are weak, he must think us strong; if we have outmaneuvered him, he must think us immobile. Hold our baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.
Fifth Observation: If he is secured at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.
Sixth Observation: Always do to your opponent the exact opposite of what he wishes—he will tell you this simply by showing his posture. If your enemy is of choleric temper, his posture then suggests you should seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, so that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, then this is what he WISHES—therefore, separate those forces. If you do not control the enemy, he will control you.
Seventh Observation: Utilize the trick that he isn’t using. If he punches, kick. If he kicks, punch. If he shouts, whisper. If he whispers, shout—or don’t speak at all. Keep him off-balance. Do not play his game. Make him play yours, for you are practiced at yours, and in your Arena he will be without weapon.
Eighth Observation: Do nothing that is of no use. Do at least three things each day that take you towards your ultimate goal—all other things you do must be as “satellite goals,” as moons provide tides to planets. Planets without moons are never as diverse in contours, never as vibrant in color, never as rich in tectonic or volcanic power. Dead worlds. Utterly lacking in movement. Always have satellite goals when making your plans against an opponent.
Ninth Observation: A good Bothan knows, never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
OBSERVANCES From my grandfather Idosk, I learned good morals and the governance of my temper. From my father, modesty and a husbandly character. From my mother, piety and beneficence, as well as abstinence—not only from evil deeds, but from evil thoughts—and further, simplicity in the way of living, far removed from the habits of the wealthy. From my great-grandfather, the importance of labor, and the goodness of working with my own hands. From my great-grandmother, the power to endure the freedom of speech. From my teacher Kosk’usk, I learned the meaning of Bothan life, and that all things we do should be in service to Bothawui and its Eternal Governance and Independence.
“Me in chains? You may have fettered my leg, but as for my will, even the gods themselves cannot conquer it.” - Golm Fervse’dra
MORAL LAW causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him, regardless of their lives. A good Bothan must demonstrate fairness, harshness, severity, humor, kindness, and an indominable will. He must be all things to all of his people, and yet they must always guess at which of these virtues is the “true version” of him. In truth, all of them are the true version, and none of them are.
HEAVEN indicates night and day, cold and heat, time and seasons. Master the playing field, ponder it at length—be it a battlefield or a boardroom of corporate heads—and take your environment into consideration when forming your plans. In fact, make the environment central to your plan, a nucleus, from which all other plans sprout.
GROUND comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death. Ground and Heaven go together, as more time can give you more distance, and more distance can grant you more time. Likewise, less time provides less distance, and so on.
THE COMMANDER stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness. Every Commander should prepare himself suitably before each battle, whether on a field of bloody bodies, or in the bedroom with his angry wife. Prepare yourself suitably, know what you are willing to sacrifice for what you are trying to gain. Do not have doubt before you enter into conflict. The heart of the Way is knowing everything you want and everything you are capable of and prepared to do before you even step into conflict.
METHOD AND DISCIPLINE are to be understood as the marshaling of your forces—whatever those are—in their proper order, their proper subdivisions, the maintenance of roads (or relationships), making sure that all your resources are capable of arriving in orderly fashion.
Knowing these Five Governing Factors, you can then predict the winner of any outcome simply by answering these Seven Considerations:
First, which leader is imbued with the greatest Moral Law?
Second, which of the two generals has the most Method and Discipline?
Third, with whom lie the advantages derived from Heaven and Earth?
Fourth, on which side is Discipline most rigorously enforced?
Fifth, which side has the strongest posture?
Sixth, on which side are underlings more highly trained?
Seventh, on which side is there the greatest constancy of both reward and punishment?
By means of these seven considerations, you can forecast victory or defeat.
THE VOID is a concept close to a Bothan’s heart, and a key to his or her success. It is not included in our natural knowledge. Of course, the void is nothingness. By knowing things that exist, you can know things that do not exist. By emptying the mind and then allowing oneself to see things that do not actually exist, will, in time, allow you to imagine strategies you’ve never encountered, enemies you’ve never seen, obstacles you’ve never dreamt of.
Many philosophers in this world look at things mistakenly. They think that all things they do not understand must, in fact, be the void. This is not the true void: it is simply bewilderment.
What they lack—what all truly bewildered souls lack—is a true sense of warriorship. It is in the one thing they have in common. In order to understand boardroom tactics and complex battlefield strategies fully, one must study martial arts and combat as a whole. One mustn’t just become one with the void in times of deep meditation, but also in combat. Empty your mind of all that you care about and learn to release your grasp on reality, and simply accept what is coming at you.
This is the void. A good Bothan knows this. Any true warrior understands this.
Strategy is the way of the warrior-poet. As carefully as he constructs a stanza of poetry, the warrior-poet must also construct his battle plan. It must flow and have patterns, but be willing to break with those patterns. When viewed up close, none shall see the details. When viewed from afar, the battle plan becomes clear, but only to one studied in the Ground.
One must gather one’s forces and make certain they know who the Commander is, and that they can trust him. He must demonstrate zero doubt, and exude only the confidence of one born to the role of leadership, as if chosen by some god or other deity. His exterior must be solid and impenetrable and enigmatic.
In this way, the Commander will control the Ground, by controlling his forces and covering distance over land.
[THERE IS AN INSERT, A SLIP OF PAPER, AS IF LEFT INSIDE THE BOOK BY SOMEONE ON PURPOSE…it reads as follows:] “If you have gotten this far, I commend you. Forgive this rather contrived and cliched form of secrecy, but sometimes the old ways are better that a digital trail that can be followed. I have enjoyed our talks immensely, and I find my faith grows in your earnestness and declaration of faith to the Bothan people. However, there are those that would not like me to be as frank as I am about to be. I will not belabor the point, so here it is: While the people I represent are relatively confident in our ability to trust YOU, we are not so certain about your Temple as a whole. There are rumors that have reached my ears, and the ears of others here on Bothawui, that all may not be as it seems with some members of your leadership. I ask only that you keep your eyes peeled and your mind open, and watch yourself. I could say more but I would not want to prejudice your judgment. Be sure, though, you may want to look to the truth of your Temple. Explore its history, and if you are feeling gracious, share whatever you find with us. Bak’chu’wak’chek, as we say. And may the Force be with you.”
The essence of Bothan strategy is based on the long-term strategy of water. Strategy is different than all other things, in that if you mistake it even a little, you will fall into bad paths and bad habits. In strategy, your bearing must not be any different from your normal state. Both in fighting, and in everyday life you should be determined and yet calm.
The ERRAND OF WATER is to find the way out, the easiest path, the most elegant solution. Water will flow easily through whatever crack. Water will absorb and be absorbed whenever necessary. When placed into a bowl, water takes on the shape of the bowl. When placed into a cup, water is takes on the shape of the cup. It is uniform and yet utterly formless.
Water is the essence of your spirit—not just metaphysically, but logically and practically. When your body is relaxed, do not let your spirit slacken. And when your spirit is relaxed, do not let your body stiffen. Keep a sharp mind, body, and spirit, and make sure all three are ALWAYS searching for the most elegant solution—the errand of water.
There is a hidden danger to water. Water that is excited will evaporate, and any water whose molecules begin to slow down will utterly freeze. Be neither excited nor frozen, be neither elevated nor languid. A good Commander will watch is troops flow as water, and he will conduct them as water, or he will be destroyed.
But water cannot be maintained without proper Stance.
STANCE is that subset of skills a true leader must have. For instance, when you hold yourself in a combat stance, you are typically told to tuck your jaw, slightly squint, brace your mid-body with your abdomen, and sink by bending your knees, rooting yourself to the ground.
You must have a Stance in all things. A way of holding yourself and maintaining a comportment when in negotiations. For most humanoids, it has become a shared custom among friendly negotiations to smile slightly, appear benevolent, with feet shoulder-width apart. Hands can usually be clasps behind the back, and the chest can be slightly inflated (but not so inflated as to appear intimidating). Look EVERYONE in the eye when speaking to them…unless you wish to hold Sway, in which case you very appropriately do not look your target in the eye. But do not appear cowed by your target—rather, look away as if he is of no importance, make him beg for your attention, and then he will be grateful for it.
When dealing in matters of intimidation, your Stance must be altered. Your feet should be wider than shoulder-width and your gaze should be unyielding. You should not blink, you should not look away…until the moment before you make your threat. Look away for a moment, making your target feel disposable, make him feel despondent, that you might have forgotten his spirit, his sentience, his worth as a living being. Then, just before you issue your threat, look directly into his eyes. This is your Stance when getting what you want by coercion.
Even while in either of these Stances, you must remember the ERRAND OF WATER. There are times when it makes sense to be overly elaborate, but in some cases one should be only as a stream of water, rolling downhill, seamlessly flowing into the tiniest cracks, seeking the simplest and easiest path.
Combine Stance with the Errand of Water, and you are now diving deeply into the Way.
A good strategist’s goal is to reach “eudaimonia,” which is a state of flourishing that arises when we live in accordance with Nature. But how does one live in accordance to Nature? Stoic philosophers believe this means living rationally, and that rational perfection can be found in virtue. Simply put, VIRTUE is the path to not only a happy life, but a successful and strategic life.
The opposite of virtue is VICE, and there are four elements to vice that must be avoided at all cost. A good Commander must be a being of virtue, casting aside vice and understanding the ELEMENT SINS and how they will topple his control over himself and his environment.
The first element sin is FOOLISHNESS – I define “foolishness” as behaving in a way that is destructive to both oneself and to others. The chase of short-term pleasures in the form of addictions leads to long-term destructiveness. Clinging to an impermanent universe leads to pain. And being overly occupied with the future leads to anxiety. Trying to control a thing as big as the universe is an impossible quest, and thus a waste of time, and thus destructive. As the philosopher Bo’corun said, “If you wish your children, and your wife, and your friends to live forever, you are foolish, for you wish to be in control of things you cannot, and you wish for things that belong to others to be your own. So if you have a servant, and you wish for him to be perfect, then you are a fool, for you wish for vice not to be vice.” Therefore, foolishness is not merely trying to control things, it is trying to control things you cannot. A good Commander knows which things he can control (cosmic courses, the path the Galaxy makes through the universe, the forward motion of time, the inevitability of death), and he concentrates on all that he CAN control—himself. And through himself, with his own self-control, he controls his legions, for they do not see a fool when they look at him.
The second element sin is INJUSTICE – You should focus mainly on emotional resilience, and the ability to use reason to find a sense of inner peace in the midst of chaos. Your strategies against an Enemy must further your cause of virtue, and not your vice. Therefore, to be a better strategist, one with PURPOSE, you must not be content with injustice, especially injustice caused by you. You must not fall to greed, or self-aggrandizement, because once you show yourself to be tolerant of injustice, you not only lose the trust of others, but you can no longer trust your OWN judgment.
The third element sin is COWARDICE – You should know that at the end of a person’s life, they tend to regret the things they HAVEN’T DONE more than the things that they HAVE DONE. An underlying reason for this is that too many times, we want to do things but are stopped by mind-states like fear, doubt, or shear laziness. So we abstain from acting, even if it’s the right thing to do. By indulging this behavior, we lose opportunities, which leads to regret. Even acting to make a bad decision is still better than doing nothing, as a bad decision can grant experience. But cowardice is the act of doing nothing, or doing the least. It means that we fear life, rather than engage with it. It means that we avoid our problems, rather than confront them. No Commander can be afraid to confront himself.
The fourth element sin is INTEMPERANCE – This vice is highly connected with how we pursue so-called “indifference.” An ancient philosopher named Ik’thun argued that the right amount of pleasure leads to happiness. He was an advocate of moderation. I find he was right. A little bit of wine is pleasurable. Too much wine leads to suffering in the long-term. An intemperate person will seek only sources of indulgence and entertainment from outside themselves, and never from within. A good Commander knows this.
A Commander should know the Way broadly. If you know the Way broadly then you will see it in everything.
The means by which we see the Way broadly is by expanding our overall vision. Our internal eye must be broadly trained. There is a difference between sight and perception. Sight is done with the eyeballs, but perception is achieved when you see everything in the room, to the left and right of you, without having to move the eyes.
There is an exercise I have dubbed “splatter-vision,” by which upon walking into the room a mind learns to de-focus from any one thing and instead let themselves see the whole picture, and then methodically catalogue every item in the room one by one. You may stare at any one point in the room or in a forest, as long as you do not focus on it. De-focus your vision, “splatter” it across the entire spectrum of your environment. Soak in your environment and let it become you. Then, starting slowly, then with mountain speed, take stock of the individual items and analyze them thoroughly.
Soon you will see world open up to you in ways you never anticipated or thought possible. New avenues of thought will emerge, new methods of attack that would otherwise never have occurred to you. You will gain insights into your opponents that you would never have even dreamt. You will empathize with them, perhaps even pity them.
Splatter-vision is just one way to broaden your perception of the world, and thus broaden your horizons for applications of the Way.
Whenever I think of the usefulness of splatter-vision, I am reminded of the story of Hun Dres’dok, a Zabrak tactician and conqueror who died just years before I was born. He had a great palace, you see, and in that palace he had the most ornate sculptures, the most valuable art. And Dres’dok was also a gardener by hobby, and kept many of the rarest plants and trees in the Galaxy inside his palace.
Dres’dok was attended by many hundreds of courtiers and servants. But he kept counsel with only his good friend, a human named Izzen Royc. The two had been friends since before Dres’dok had conquered half of Iridonia.
One year, during his famous Okanosh Invasion Campaign, Dres’dok’s armies were continually pummeled. They were being absolutely decimated everywhere they went. Dres’dok’s enemy, a vile Hutt named Tubak, seemed to know his every move. Wherever Dres’dok planned to move his armies, Tubak the Hutt was already there, waiting. This caused Dres’dok to keep the secret of his armies to himself, only speaking of them to his friend Royc upon the day the armies were meant to move.
And yet…
Someone, Tubak’s forces were always exactly where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. Tubak’s forces crushed Dres’dok’s own.
Dres’dok began to suspect his friend Royc was a traitor, for who else knew the movements of his armies? Dres’dok told no one of his legions’ movements, no one else. No one besides Izzen Royc. Dres’dok was plagued by anger, thinking he had been betrayed by his oldest friend and confidant. He began preparations to have Royc arrested and executed.
Then, on the night before he was to have Royc killed, Dres’dok had a vision. He fell asleep in front of the fireplace, gazing into the flames. He experienced a sort of hypnagogic dream, where he saw many trees whispering to him, whispering his secrets to the shadows. As I said before, Dres’dok’s palace was adorned with many foreign trees. When he woke up, Dres’dok looked about his room, so filled with green plant-life, such rare trees, such exquisite flowers.
The next day, he took a turn about the palace. He de-focused his eyes and tried to see them in a new light. He used splatter-vision—seeing all without focusing on one, getting a general feel of his environment. He walked his gardens, walked his palace’s many corridors, and slowly, VERY slowly, he began soaking in the finer details.
And that’s when he saw it. A minor thing. A tree sat near his favorite spot near a fountain. It was a tree from some planet called Caluin or some such. He had forgotten where he obtained it. He seemed to recall it was a gift from someone. It had always changed colors frequently, particularly when there were loud sounds nearby. The tree had the most peculiar biology, somehow its pigments reacting to sound frequencies.
Dres’dok became fascinated with this tree, and studied it. It took him half a day to uncover the unbelievable truth. The tree was a rare specimen called a ch’hala tree, and it did indeed react to sound waves. Not only that, but there were some small tribes from its native planet that had worked out how to interpret those colors from far away, using the color changes to decipher sound remotely.
Dres’dok inspected the tree closely, ripped it apart, dissected it. He had droids analyze it. What they found shocked him. An engineered biochemical system had been implemented that enhanced the ch’hala tree’s sensitivity to sound, having it emit odorless pheromones that could travel on the winds and be deciphered by electronic devices outside of the palace.
That’s when Dres’dok realized the truth. The ch’hala tree was being used by his enemies to transmit his words across great distances. It was a biological transmitter that would pass by any electronic sweep his security teams conducted.
Dres’dok had nearly killed his friend Royc over a false assumption. Only by using splatter-vision did he save both his empire and his friend.
And, of course, in his great wisdom, Dres’dok opted to keep the ch’hala tree exactly where it was, speaking falsely in front of it, feeding his enemies false information, which eventually led to Tubak the Hutt’s demise three years later.
Splatter-vision also has many other applications, of course. For instance, entering a room and examining its many details will allow one to see the room not only as it IS, but as it WAS, by taking in the details—such as dust that has been disturbed where an old book has been moved on a shelf—and comparing them to the “normal state” of such a room.
Further, a good practitioner of the Way ought to use splatter-vision when looking at friends, family, strangers, noting their WHOLE BEING as a single thing, and then slowly taking in the individual details—how they walk differently when carrying something in their right hand as opposed to their right, for instance, or how their nostrils flare when trying to hide their anger.
[What follows is text instructions on various visual exercises to increase a practitioner’s skill at examining their environment. If you meditate on this for one week in-game, while passing a Hard Discipline or Coordination check, you gain the ability to use Perception at certain times with TWO SETBACK DICE in order to attempt the talent RECONSTRUCT THE SCENE (Sherlock Holmes style).]

2020.08.18 14:19 biblebytes Psalm 119 verses 55 and 56, Recognizing our Creator

Psalm 119 verses 55 and 56, Recognizing our Creator
Breakfast Bible Bytes, A moment with our Creator Audio rendition of Breakfast Bible Bytes
Psalm 119 verses 55 and 56, Recognizing our Creator
Psalm 119:55-56; I remember Your name in the night, O LORD, And I keep Your law. 56 This has become mine Because I kept Your precepts.
These are the final two verses of the 8th letter in the Hebrew alphabet. When we remember His Name in the night, do we recall that He is infinitely wise, holy and good, the cause and Creator of all that is? His name includes all His attributes. The night is a time when material things give way to the spiritual, lifting us into conformity with the divine. As we think on Him in the quiet of the night we are raised to a new and ennobling relationship with Him, that of an adopted child of the King.
It is the glory God has given mankind as the only one of His creation that can think about and recognize their Creator. I don’t believe that turtles, dolphins, monkeys, or even the fictitious Sasquatch spend any part of their day thinking about the majesty of their Creator or give thanks, do you?
Our human problem with obedience (keeping His precepts) is that we have inherited a pride-filled rebellious nature that knows evil all too well from our fallen ancestor Adam; a nature that has been vacated by God’s indwelling Holy Spirit, making us incomplete, only a body and a soul. The propitiation of Christ came about so that God could justify us and again allow humankind to be indwelt by His Spirit, making the penitent person complete by the addition of His Indwelling Spirit. But, even after the Spirit takes up residence and provides a new nature, we still have the problem of our mind that has been trained by our old nature. God has changed our nature, but the mind must be renewed one step at a time, washed with the Water of His Word, cleansed by His Spirit, yet compliant sanctification still requires our own participation, we must conquer the flesh-trained mind by allowing His Spirit to change the way that we think. Ephesians 4:21-24 reads; “. . . the truth is in Jesus, [we are] 22 to take off [y]our former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, 23 to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, 24 and to put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.”
Romans 12:2 makes it clear the purpose of the renewing is that we are “. . . not [to] be conformed to this age but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, so that [we] may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. (CSB) Keep in mind that the attributes of God's name stand in league with our keeping of God's commands.
Now, we do not doubt that there is given to every true Christian at least the portion of grace which is requisite for the duties appointed to us by God, even though without the grace nothing can be done, and with the Spirit’s grace all may be done, it does not follow that just because the grace is conferred that the work will be accomplished. Two men may receive the same portion of grace, just as in the parable of the three servants who were each given talents (a coin) suitable to their ability (the third lost everything). However, in the one, there was an incentive, vigilance, and sincerity, and in the other, perhaps traits like lethargy, negligence, or carelessness. What are the benefits of the first servant compared to the laziness of the second? The one improved God's gift and therefore he grew in God’s grace; the other neglected God's gift, and either he is slothful, or he carelessly chooses to step back from God’s benevolence. It is true that Grace springs solely from God; but, our growth in grace depends much on what we do with what God has trusted us with. Obedience like faith gathers strength as it is implemented.

2020.08.13 18:01 Roffrs It Still Moves Survivor, Final Round

Vacation's over for "One Big Holiday."
A fond farewell to the song that plays like a mission statement from Jim and Co. If they dedicate themselves to it, they can create a life of adventure. In some ways, OBH is the My Morning Jacket song. It dates back to the early days of the band (here's a video of them playing it in '99), they played it on their first national TV appearance in '03, named a guldurn music festival after it, and finish nearly every concert with it.
In my opinion, it's for that last reason that OBH could never take the Survivor title. As great as it is, if you've seen the band once before, there can come a time a couple hours in where as every song ends, you dread OBH's opening riff. All the same, when it comes, you can't help but to let loose and rock out as hard as ever; you know it's your last chance for a while.
"Grab a Body" hopes you'll remember.
Gotta love the Memphis-soul vibe of this (mostly) instrumental number, once again thanks in large part to Willie Mitchell's Memphis Horns. Not that the song needs any more lyrics, but don't the passages with wah guitar sound ripe for vocal verses? Gotta wonder if there was ever going to be more vocals on this track, or even if there were and they were removed for this later release?? Either way, nice to have the final puzzle piece to "I Will Sing You Songs." The repurposed outro is an excellent inclusion in the album. So, if it had been in the album, would this song be placed after IWSYS or in line with TTF and AD, could this have been this album's instrumental finale?
"En La Ceremony" is the ISM B-Side champion!
Oooh this song. The classical guitar and piano are—for our purposes at least—the first appearance of Carl and Bo, respectively! Were those tracks added just for the 2016 release or at some earlier point? Who knows and who cares? And everything beyond the 3 minute mark is about the most "Cobra" stuff since "Cobra." And yet, among these three b-sides, ELC sounds least like the rest of ISM. Now if only it could find its way onto some set lists with Preservation Hall Jazz Band accompanying.
Ok! The time has finally come for the thrilling conclusion of It Still Moves Survivor! Two sprawling soundscapes both on the album and in front of a crowd. One begs to go out into this big world and the other wishes its singular moment could last forever.
It's a voice and it's a choice....
Songs that just seemed to disappear:

Psalm 119:40 --Revive Me In Your Righteousness.
Psalm 119:40: Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
Just as the Psalmist longs after the principles of God with a driven desire to be directed by the Law, the Spirit-filled Christian should long for the Word of God and the guidance of His Spirit in all things, coupled with the imputed righteousness of Christ; filling the born anew penitent with new life from above and strengthening us thru all of our difficulties, temptations, and trials, creating in us a hunger for His Word.
The Psalmist can at the very least claim sincerity. He is deeply humbled by a sense of his own weakness and need of God’s grace; but above all else, he desires in all things to be conformed to the divine will of His Creator. Because the Cross is such an offense to the natural-born man, the change in us who are born again becomes pronounced and that may work either for or against us in our testimony, verifying our conversion or the level of our Christian maturity and our commitment to Christ. However, if we have received His Spirit with the new nature, then we may safely conclude and can be sure “. . . that he who started a good work in [us] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 CSB
The Psalmist reaches out in prayer, revive me in Your righteousness. We are all in the same boat, we need daily revival and refreshing by the Word of God along with the life-giving power of His Holy Spirit, otherwise, we are apt to become languorous in our enthusiasm as well as our commitment to walk in obedience to the New Way of the Spirit. Satan will attempt to utilize any slackened pace in drawing the child of God back into compliance with his worldly ways. When we enjoy the sweetness of God's precepts from His Word, it will make us long for more association with them. And where God has expressed His will, He has kingdom work for us to do, winning crowns and storing up treasure for the Bema (judgment seat of Christ). The ways of the Spirit of Christ are good in every sense, by their origin, their essence, and in their results.
Jesus offers this path in Matthew 11:28 to 29: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Isaiah 40:29 to 31 confirms the result of adhering to the Word of the Lord; saying, “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

Psalm 119 verse 28, Our God will help us to overcome the slow work of sorrow
📷Psalm 119:28: My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.
The idea of melting does not truly express the meaning of the analogy portrayed in the verse, and it would perhaps be better conveyed by the phrase “profound weeping”. Overbearing sorrow was dissolving away his will to live. It was a constant source of conviction and continuous grief that was slowly wearing away at the soul. The Word translated as heaviness implies a significant depth of grief and sorrow. We will often say that a person with this type of silent sorrow, just “pines away”.
The Psalmist pleads with God to strengthen him, giving him the strength to overcome this slow work of sorrow. Perhaps this is what our Lord Jesus thought as he hung from the cross and felt His physical life ebbing away. We are given written insight into that horrible moment by this prophetic expression in Psalm 22:14: “I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed; my heart is like wax, melting within me.” (CSB) The Psalmist’s hope in his state of depression lies not in himself, but in his God. Prayer in despairing times is the surest and shortest way out of the depths of depression. The Psalmist expresses his state of depression throughout this Psalm. We have already read in verse 20, his soul breaks with longing; in verse 25, his soul clings to the dust; when we get to verse 81, his soul faints for Your salvation; in verse 109, his soul is continually in God’s hand; in Verse 167, his soul keeps God’s testimonies and he loves them exceedingly; and finally, in verse 175, “Let my soul live, and it shall praise You; And let Your judgments help me.”
In memory of my friend Randy.
This being out of sequence must have been of my Lord

Psalm 119:26-27 Teach me your precepts and statutes
Breakfast Bible Bytes, A moment with our Creator Morning Soul Food Audio rendition of Breakfast Bible Bytes
Psalm 119:26-27 Teach me your precepts and statutes
Psalm 119:26; I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes.
The first lesson for the born anew person is to learn about and know his Creator, but the second is to know about himself. If the casual believer fails in the first arena, they will certainly fail in the second if they don’t begin to know, comprehend, and learn to control their own thought process. The flesh trained mind focuses on the body and clamors freely for attention. If the new believer never learns to feed his new nature with soul food it will starve, the Word can literally save the soul. Like this psalmist, the true believer begins to know themselves by the revelation of God’s indwelling Spirit and must regularly practice introspection comparing their life to the Word, or else they will begin to declare their own ways to be His ways. Still, as we mature, we don’t always comprehend our failures to walk in the New Way of the Spirit and instead follow the devious wanderings of our flesh trained mind. Knowing ourselves in contrast to His written Word we realize our shortcomings and can repent in earnest, so we can honestly say "I have declared my ways, and You have heard me. As we mature, and we discover our own ignorance. Part of our regular prayer should agree with the psalmist, saying, “Teach me your statutes Lord.”
Neither did the Psalmist speak or write publicly about this subject for his own gain, the object of his declaration was that others may be persuaded to join with him and walk in the ways of the Lord, sharing the relief that he himself has so generously enjoyed.
Confession is good for the soul; Nothing brings more comfort to the wayward soul than an honest acknowledgment of the various trespasses that have caused such guilt, sorrow, and fatigue. When we fully confess and hold nothing back, we may be assured that our repentance will be heard and that God will not turn away from us. We can have confidence that He has answered us. Do you remember that remarkable expression of our Lord in "John 17:20 as He is praying for His disciples in preparation for sending them out to share His gospel: “I pray not only for these but also for those who believe in me through their word.” (CSB) They have made God’s word theirs, by the reconciliation through Christ’s propitiation, and in only a short time, in their near future, they will personally experience His indwelling Holy Spirit.
Having repented fully and having received full forgiveness for his transgressions by the way of the temple sacrifice, the psalmist is like you and me, anxious not to offend our Savior through ignorance of the Word, he pleads for the Lord to teach him God’s way. Back in verse 12 of this Psalm, the plea was through an examination of God by the word; here it is followed by an examination of the person himself. What is true here is that every experience in life should lead us to repeat the Psalmist pleads to the Lord “teach me thy statues.”
Psalm 119:27: Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So, shall I meditate on Your wondrous works.
Unlike our fascination today with prophecy, the psalmist was much more anxious to understand God’s precepts, not wasting his time on the subtleties of the law but on the common and everyday use of the principles contained therein, God’s providential dealings that are wondrous. this can be described in his day as “the way of God’s precepts.” Today we walk according to “the new way of the Spirit.” The psalmist sought clarity, pleading with God to help him understand and apply the Torah to his life.
His primary plea is for an understanding of the principles behind the law and that is in no way separate from which we must strive for in our own day; our purpose is not to memorize verses, or keep the Law, rather, it is that we gain an understanding of the principles that build on the foundation of God’s wondrous works so that we may communicate our knowledge to others that they also may grow into stalwart disciples and thereby disciple others along the same path. Luke 6:45: “A good person produces good out of the good stored up in his heart. An evil person produces evil out of the evil stored up in his heart, for his mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.” (CSB)
It is wise and far-reaching for us to know exactly what the law teaches, and what were the designs behind the creation of the Law; why humanity was made subject to the precepts of the Law, and how on this side of the cross, we have been delivered from its penalties. On this side of the cross, we have a great need to understand the way prepared for us by the precepts of the gospel. These precepts are to "repent," "believe," and "be converted by a new unsullied nature and have our thinking renewed. Unlike the keeping of the Law, these gospel precepts are the result of divine grace, which is God’s just demands on our lives and are encompassed with His divine grace and mercy. The duty of man is to love God above all else. Jesus said, “if you love me you will obey me.” Over time we have all witnessed ministries that have become lopsided, rather than preaching the true, balanced, and harmoniously proportioned gospel of repentance, reconciliation, and restoration, the pendulum has oscillated to these caricatures of Christianity; either into the law, or the unsubstantiated grace fostered by human doctrine, declaring God to be only Love and wouldn’t think of sending anyone to hell.
Without a clear tone and tenor of the law and a deep insight into the practical meaning of God’s Word, all that the scripturally ignorant can hope for is to obey the letter of the Word rather than receive its gracious guidance. To fully understand God’s gospel precepts, we need the enlightenment and the interpretive direction of God’s indwelling Holy Spirit.

2020.07.28 03:00 Nerdlurld The Holy Anuad (Unabridged)

THE HOLY ANUAD -Unabridged- Mnemonic Canon
An Epic Poem, or Collection of Poems, of Unknown Origin(s) That Dates Back to the Earliest Days of the Merethic Era written by the first assumed diviner(s) of Elder Scrolls. One of the earliest, if not the earliest canonizations of the elder prophecies.
  1. Before it all. Before the dream was dreamt. There was but Amaranth. Animus Prime. The all and none. The ever present outsider. Familiar mystery. Foreign Forefather. He and She, Both and Neither. God and Mortal. Man and Mer. Wolf and Sheep. Ancient youth. Newborn Elder. However, To be all there can be no other. This had saddened Amaranth. The last thing Amaranth had learned before becoming omniscient, and the last thing they had to become to be omnipresent, and the last thing they had to achieve to be omnipotent was loneliness.
  2. Amaranth meditated on this for a day. They sat amid their domain of infinity and meditated so deeply that they began to dream without even realizing. Amaranth fell back regressing into their own subconscious void. There they experienced true emptiness. Abysmal absentia. Infinite and eternal naught. Dream became nightmare. Amaranth sought to protect is from not and so became it. This that contained all that is and will be became distinct from that which is not and will never be. Is named himself Anu and then identified his mirror twin as Padomay.
  3. Dichotomy. Anu the ever-light was as a perfect crystalline lattice. Order eternal. Aether-Animus. Arena Animus. Nether-Animus. Padomay the never-dark was as the still cold of moonless night. The idea of other scared Anu. The idea of changing what is pleased Padomay. Brotherhood turned blood feud. The Lattice shattered and rebuilt time and again until a piece of starlight fell from Anu and flew to Padomay, darkened, obscured. The star circled back again and grew brighter than Anu. Then nestled below light, but above darkness, and declared herself Nir. And for the first time a soul shown with askelde uncertainty.
  4. Anu was stricken by her, and she with him. Nir showed Anu things that could be. Miraculous and Mundane. Lattice flows like Water. Then she showed him things that should be. Water elevated to Heavens unspoken. They fell in love, and Padomay grew angry. Padomay tried to change his brothers stubborn ways for so long. And yet Nir does so upon introduction. Passions of Anu-Nir beset the world with the Et’Ada and chief among them where the Duodecaplets and their Realms Eternal and Perfect. Kingdoms of light, dark, sea, snow, sand, reef, stars, song, time, mist, steel, and fire. Ur-Adnym.
  5. Padomay sought creation and change and so made a family of his own. Being but naught, the twins Jone and Jode were born still. And so death was wrought in the world and Padomay’s rage and sorrow and jealousy was too much to bear any longer and so the nothing lashed out at the everything despite the twins being adopted by spirits of love and mercy. Spreading this affliction called Death. Becoming the mantle for Death as he devastates the twelve kingdoms sword in hand. Nymic War. The First War left trauma on Anu that would last for time immemorial. The chaos and confusion left behind had killed Nir and the Twelve Kings, her and Anu’s firstborns. Yes many Et’Ada had passed on from is to not, and Anu did yet mourn.
  6. Padomay’s cloud did cast a great shadow that day and Anu remembered he and Padomay’s father when they were alone. Triopticum. Just as Old Amaranth did Anu did yet meditate on his loss and dreamed a dream terrible and beautiful to behold and did yet shine brighter than he had before becoming the wellspring of all new life. Banishing Padomay back to the sleeping Void. Anu was then reborn as Anui-El the Angel of Life, and so did recognize the dreadful new visage of Padomay and named him Sithis the Angel of Death.
  7. From the bones of his wife and his children Anui-El built a grand and beautiful alter to both honor their memory and shelter their souls and the souls of any and every Ada, and named this new kingdom built of hallowed blood, Nirn the Grey Maybe at the center of the world. Wheel’s axis. Scale’s fulcrum. These two Angels then fought one another over the souls of the Ur-Ada. From Anui-El’s light congealed aetherealms eternal as the the great Aurbus disk. Then did Sithis poor the fallen blood he claimed across the Aurbic Wheel, and the voided Animi did congeal as well at the heart of this creation called Nirn and awoke her soul. Aetherial eternity then sundered from Oblivious infinity. Heavenly Uroboros and Hellish Heart.
  8. Both Anui-El and Sithis seen this interplay and grew curious. Where Anui-El was joyous and inspired, Sithis grew fearful and violent. The Et’Ada thrives among the timeless oceans of Aetherius and Oblivion. Being and doing as they pleased infinitely and eternally. Anui-El then became as one of these souls to rule and preserve them, and he was known to them as Auri-El and they called him Dragon King. Sithis then did the same to raze and revolutionize them, and he was known to them as Lorkhan and they called him Doom Drum. Auri-El and Lorkhan found followings and then formed Aurbic kingdoms. A kingdom of sedentary Law and order and a kingdom of nomadic freedom and chaos.
  9. These ideas clashed in manifold fashion, but mostly their boundless existence no longer sated them. Before endless war broke out Lorkhan conceived of a plan to reconcile and overcome disparity. Lorkhan brought the soul of Anui-El called Auri-El and the wisdom of Nirn called Magnus as a neutral party. He brought the wives of his brother named Mara and Dibella. He brought his brother’s wizard Arkay, his knight Trinimac, and the Magus’ pupils Julianos and Mnemoli. He called his own wife Kynareth. He called his own banner-lords, the brothers Stendarr and Zenithar. He called on many more Lords, Ladies, Peasants, and Beasts of the Oblivion Wilds and Aetherius Kingdoms such as Vigryl, Yffre, Ius, the children of Magnus, Druagga, Mei, Qolwen, Sai, Syrabane, Mystara, the Deep Ones, Arius and countless others, and they came in droves for this promised land.
  10. Lorkhan told them he would forfeit his own lands in Oblivion to make a new realm for anyone willing to help build it. He promised Auri-El rulership of this dominion and authorship of time for Lorkhan’s space. And so Auri-El did conceive of linear time to bring order to the events of their realm. He tasked Magnus with drawing the map of Nirn the twelve-fold as a compromise to their values. Magnus then made the twelve conform to the temporal line as a mythic cycle, while physically they are as dodecahedron of spacious land and temporal water and magic sky. And so Lorkhan begot the realm of Mundus, Magnus begot the plane of Nirn, and Auri-El begot the realms of Time.
  1. Unbeknownst to all other Ada to experience something besides eternity and infinity one must be relegated to limitations and impermanence. Sacrificing their divinity, thus life as they know it. Sithis’ House. When their numbers began to die off, bursting into raw creatia, and metamorphosing into the land, sky, and sea, the flora, fauna, and monsters, and the all the people of the Nirn, the Divines realized what they had done. It was too late. Magnus used what strength he had left to tear through the void membrane and allow the Aetherius to shine as the mighty sphere we call Sun.
  2. Magnus’ Anuic kin follow suite and we are begotten to the majesty of the stars and their constellations, forever known as Magna-Ge, the Star-Orphans. Our Nirnic forebears who sacrifice their lives and their powers became known to us as the Aedra, Our Ancestors. Those Padomaic Ada who coveted their power, but held curiosity for creation, remained in Oblivion, and are so tied to it for eternity. These are the Daedra, the Old Gods. The last divine act of the Eight who remained (Auri-El called Akatosh, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth Arkay, Julianos, Zenithar, and Stendarr) held trial for the treachery and deceit of Lorkhan atop a Tower of their own making called Ada-Mantia. Written to be remembered, like all things, by Yffre. Sentenced to death and executed by Trinimac. Shor then meditated on what he had done, for for a moment knew Anu. His heart cast across the world by Auri-El’s Bow and Arrow and his body cast to the sky as a lunar umbra alongside his kin Jone and Jode and his soul cast upon the earth as a vengeful Wraith ever binding itself to impermanent flesh at least a thousand times a Kalpa. Ysmiri.
  3. The Eight chose to stay because they truly believed in Mundus and it shows in how they governed it. Before they became mortal and died the godly Aedra started families so they may live on in some way. Julianos taught their children the divine scripts so they may hold memory as well as the secrets to Magicka. Zenithar taught them multitudes of crafts so they may be resourceful in times of need and plenty. Dibella taught them the beauty and subtle communication of the arts and the many joys of love. Stendarr taught them kindness and compassion for they were manifold and maniform. Arkay taught them to respect the dead for they are never truly gone and to honor life because they are your kin. Mara taught us to have and hold family in whatever form we find happiness in. Kynareth taught them to cherish the natural world for it was made for us by the blood of our ancestors, it is our birthright and our charge. And Akatosh taught us to honor and protect your people, be they tribe, kingdom or empire, and hold your traditions close for they are as much a part of you as you are of them.
  4. The first amongst them to die was Yffre the Singer, who declared herself to becoming the Bones of the Earth. Her knight Hircine was so ashamed of his inability to protect her he tore his way into Oblivion where he may have a good vantage to hunt the monsters of Mundus who dishonor her memory. So the first race of mortals became known as the Earth Bones, or Ehlnofey. Dead Yffre then grew into the land as a great and beautiful Tree. The First Tree. All around her their fallen kin fell and sprouted back up again, or scurried away, or crumbled into the elements, or rose right back up again deformed and speaking tongues alien to the ear. The Ehlnofey were then rallied by Akatosh, now Demi-God, under the banner of a kingdom in the Kalpic calm of which they called Old Ehlnofey in honor of fallen Yffre. The Ghost of Lorkhan then rallied the altered forms betrayed by Akatosh and established the Wandering Ehlnofey. As the Dawn of time stirs at the first Kalpa the drums of war sound.
  5. The gigantic Wanderers from across amorphous Nirn, being labeled Men, then laid siege on the ramparts of the Old Ehlnofey Towers, dismantling the inner machinations of Cephorah wizards, and cracking the earth beneath their feet when summoning mighty Lorkhan called Shor. The planet wide continent split into twelve and the ocean is born as land, divinity, and memory slip into the past. The Eight finally passed and they then split into trinitarian aspects. Three truths. Physically they died and ascended their forms into the outer Mundus as the cosmic linchpins of creation called Planets. Mentally they linger among Nirn as subconscious dreamers manifesting their wills through thought and communicating with their progeny through love. Spiritually they ascended into the Aetherius through the Magnic sphere to await their children in the worlds to come with open arms. All but mighty Trinimac, the ever-vigil of his Lord El’s kingdom.
  6. The powerful Elders labelled Mer held to their ways and tried to build on other lands whenever Ehlnofey could no longer support them. They fled from the south when their towers fell and their home sank beneath the waves. Starfall. The Mer who stayed on the remnants of Old Ehlnofey in the far south braved the Kalpic winds and then resettled their home as the Aldmer Ancient Elves. Having to seize it from the multi-formed fairy-folk and their nature gods of earthly Gheatus, watery Chonus, and stormy Syrgia who fell up the chain of Fey. While those who fell to the opposing end of this morphia belong to the equally multi-formed Goblin-Ken who were either pushed from or enslaved on these isles they now called Summerset.
  7. Refugees from the original Twelve Worlds of Creation made landfall with their world and built an empire when their Kalpa came. Though originating from an Anuic paradigm these tree-like entities of immeasurable knowledge and experiences embrace and honor the Padomaic soul of Sithis. The Hist’s Realm of Nirn, in stark contrast to the ethereal forests and crystal spires of Old Ehlnofey, is a dank and ferocious mire that serves as little more than a staging ground for the disparate races of the Ehlnofey Wars. Not willing to be bystanders or victims of an apocalyptic war between Demi-Gods the Hist then did conspire.
  8. The Hist took up the Ehlnofic blood around them and infused them with their own magicka as saps. With this symbiosis the Hist forged their own race, the Argonian Lizard Folk, or as they call themselves the Saxhleel People of the Root. the Hist and Argonian alliance culminated in the Xanmeeri Civilization where the Hist would beset the Argonians onto any threats to the continent. In exchange the Argonians would receive ancient knowledge and forbidden powers with which they built mighty ziggurats called Xanmeer with ballistae that fire Magicka. This was the Golden Age of Argonian civilization, they were so powerful and successful in fact that they began to rival the trees that granted them this power in the first place.
  9. After the Xanmeeri Argonians built a great Stone Tower at the heart of the realm legend has it their were instances of Argonians overthrowing the Hist in rebellion. With this the Hist retreated into themselves and cut off all ties to their progeny. With their alliance sundered and a war eternal raging the Xanmeeri didn’t stand a chance and the same fate that befell Old Ehlnofey came to the Hist Realm. Duskfall. The pyramids were abandoned and the Lizard folk fell into tribal society. The Ehlnofey passed over the Marsh sinking most of it into the sea after destroyed the Stone Tower and leaving behind some primordial forms of Wandering Men like the Silver-skinned Kothringi and the eyeless Orma.
  10. Like the Isles of Summer the remnants of the Hist Realm were set adrift and merged with a yet uncivilized land. The Hist after allowing sufficient time to pass, reestablished contact with the Argonians and helped to rebuild the more tribal civilizations of the Saxhleel of the now Black Marsh peninsula. Meanwhile some Ancient Elves left in the passed days of Aldmeris called Elder Ehlnofey, or so legend says. Sunder. The third Kalpa becomes manifest as Lyg the Adjacent Place to the Starry Heart of Tamriel. Bellowing from the sea she holds a multitude of troglodytes and monstrosities beholden to nothing but loveless craft.
  1. Chief among the beasts of the first oceans where the Dreugh Coral Kings who spread their slaver’s empire from shore to shore. Then extended their reach further to the very edge of Oblivion as they followed their new God King who they called Molag-Bal. they built for him a Tower Change which he ruled on high before clawing his way to a throne in the night sky. Dreugh enslaved Man, Mer, and Beast alike and scattered their own like across their known world, things like Eltheric Worms, Snake Hags, Frog Queens and all other manner of deep folk. Their reach spread too thin and their hubris too high and so the Dreugh fell harder then anyone else sending ripples across Nirn carrying there now feral brood across planetary waters.
  2. Legend says three stars fell named Merid-Nund, Mnemo-Li, and Xero-Lyg came to the slaves of Lyg and aided them to build a Tower Hope. The first was a traitor and consorted with Molag Bal to make the seed of Hope, a god called Dagon. Now she was banished from Magnus’ grace and named Meridia where all that was her was thrown from heaven and refracted into Oblivion. Dagon called Mehrunes did emerge from the Tower and quaked Lyg with the fury of four winds. The slaves did rejoice and they painted themselves Red like their new god Dagon. Man, Mer, and Beast alike bloodied and brazen to aquire more paint to honor their god. He then did lay waste to the empire of his father and caste him down from his now shattered Tower. And they hence wrestled for supremacy into the night for all time leaving Meridia hordes of broken bodies she was only trying to help save.
  3. So sank Lyg and her kings and slaves and cities. Rainfall. Cascading down the nine oceans of the next world. Old Ehlnofey was sundered too but her vestigial remnants linger like all time rivers past. Her heart became Summerset. Yffre’s bones drifted to the primordial star where her Trees stood adjacent to the old heart of Tower Red, and the Trees of Hist yet stand adjacent to Tower Ur, an island spouts up at her center and overshadowed by a Tower of Snow and Song. A stage for a climax. At present a wild shred of those Old Earth Bones did then writhe and twist into a storm of yet to be. Becoming a Tower in the Sea called Pyandonae. Those Mer-kin left in this primordial maelstrom mutated alongside animal-kin into terrible beasts of water and hunger. They and their Serpent King Orgnum where hence Maormer Sea Elves. Pirates tell of Hist cousins in those waters, but none can say truly.
  4. By the tradition of Orgnum’s immortal dynasty the mission of the Maormer is to escape Pyandonae and seize the Summerset for their own. Waves crashing. Across the sea to the north lay the equally wild and primordial lands of Tamriel where the divide between Old Bones of Mer and Old Bones of Earth were blurred. The extrakalpic terrain hadn’t settled and so her people mutated. The Argonians had Old Hist to guide them, the Goblins pushed from Summer became much more maniform and manifold (growing to Orc, and Ogre, and shrinking into Gremlin, Redcap, Riek, and Hob), Fairy-kin doing as they’ve always done, whatever their whimsy’s wish, and the Wanderers stood at heights unimaginable.
  5. The Aldmeri thus dubbed this land Tamri-El and built their Tower Crystal which echoes in all spaces. Their brethren left these lands westward and become as shapeless as the continent. Forest Folk, Shapeshifters, Changelings, Ooze, Oathbreakers, Betmer, Wild Hunters, Monsters. They may run as cats, stand as trees, snarl like lizards, ascend like birds and then bite like an insect. They mastered there world and threatened her before she had a chance to stand on her own. So much it made Earth Bones shudder and Daedra weep. Azurah did extend her influence on Nirn as she had sympathy for her brother’s children where her nocturnal sister showed indifferent gloom. Azurah and Yffre then did sing a dirge for the Moons thrice. Symphony. These songs brought order to the formless south and so was born the Bosmer Wood Elves, Khajiit Cat Men, and many others of fur, scale, feather, shell, or skin. Some however ran east for they liked to change, and they where only heard from again on the winds of whispers. Tosh.
  6. Under twin Moons and over a third the Cats took the place of their forbears as hegemony as their kin grow a Tower of Green. They spread from Wood to Marsh to Land of Heart and even further still on Bandaari tribal trail. Embracing passion and peace and everything in-between as they hunt the grey at night, snarling the name Khajiit. They climbed the rubied-silver and fell back down when reaching ebony twisted and mangled as they had once been before Azurah. They call by the name of Dro’Mathra. The Sands and Forests of mighty Nibenay is the home to all Cats, but where then sundered to a sixteen few who became two. Then Mer of Green and Gold had come and the Khajiit knew their kin even if the Aldmeri knew of them not and beset both Tiger and River Dragon on the intruders.
  7. The Aldmer send their pilot Topal who charts these lands for Alinor and Auri-El’s Dynasty and inspiring all manner of colonizations. Then they sent Ancient Torinaan to settle the other isles. To the western left was Topal’s sister ship who’s name is lost to time. They made of their desert wasteland colony a vast empire that outshines Aldmeri Summerset in sheer scope alone. They became the Sinistrals and where master geomancers. They then built upon there shores the Tower Orichalc of what they say was sacred ore around a relic of ancestral sanctity. By royal decree a sister kingdom to Summerset was to be established in the northern tundras and volcanos and mountains of what they would call the Elder Wood or Alt-Mora. Dragon forged at the peak of Tamri-El.
  8. So these Mer did go and colonize and made a glorious home of Ice and Snow and became the pale folk of such places in the north called Falmer Snow Elves. Just as they had settled so came the Men who had trekked the twelve realms by now. They were following the will of their god Shor called Lorkhan and his immortal son called Ysmir by his sons called Nords (who had Giant wives) and Shorrine by his sons called Nedes (who numbered as stars do) who, upon his death, is born again among Men, but rarely as an Elf or Beast as well. Aided by the wife of Shor-Ysmir the Mammoth Queen Jylkurfyk of the South, they laid siege to the Elder Wood. The Queen is of a dynastic clan of Giant Men who guides the Wanderers in their walkabout across Nirn. The Mammoth Rider’s sisters, a Queen of Scorpions called Hoon’Ding who favored the Dragon ventured west with her people, and a Queen of Serpents name Ilnyfa-Mynzsa who chased her four daughters east who ran like wild monkeys alongside her people to where Alduin did rest between frenzies with his horde and drove him west with a vengeance.
  9. The war was so mighty that it killed the Mammoth Queen and the Storm King Ysmir then did howl as a Dragon would breath fire. He shouted so fiercely that every Elf and Beast and Orc that lived in the north fled it’s wake to unknown corners if they lived at all. The Snow Elves however did find a home among the mountains betwixt Convention and Doom’s Drum where Kynareth does sing much like Nirn. So the northern Tribes of Men built a kingdom among Giants and called her Atmora, after the Elvan name, and Ysmir did found his capitol here overlooking the sky’s rim to the south ever vigilant of Demons and Monsters, and he named her Jylkurfyk.
  10. The Atmoran Men where not uniform in there ways though, and none new the art of Towers for this was Demon-craft. The world turns again on Atmora this time but with no battlement to defend her she dies a slow death. Exposed and cold the Old Woods begin to freeze over in a sea of ice. A glacial ocean did sweep across the north. Slowly, but with all the frigid uncertainty of Sithis himself. Frostfall. Troll-Kin’s Curse. Atmora broke apart and her people scattered. The Giants and Nedes sailed home to Tamriel where the everstorm began to dissipate. Their tribes flourished, but Nords stubborn in their ways of nature and animal worship turned from the wisened Fox of Shor to the powerful Dragon of Alduin immortal son of Akatosh, a Sea Wyrm who chews apart the realms at the end of their time leaving only memorial waters and so made a realm of his own for a time over men, for all Dragons, like their father, are rulers by nature. Whether they are kings or despots depends on the Dragon.
  1. As their subjects began to die off and fled of their own accord the Dragon Cult risked a war with the Ysmir and so did take his kingdom south to escape the devastation and built Saarthal. Upon arrival the Principality of the Falmer and the Settlement of Saarthal made peace and exchange. Falmer were no strangers to Men, knowing and even welcoming the Kreath of the Fall, the Galen of the Reach, Bretics of the West, the Cyrods of the Heart, and the Askelde of the East. The Draconic Nords found an old stone in a cave adjacent to the Throat. Either placed by God or Elf this stone’s discovery infuriated the local Falmer as though the Nords had disgraced an ancestral tomb. Tears. Blood. All the Nords dead or fled.
  2. Aldmeri colonies across Tamriel began establishing themselves vanquishing or enslaving all manner of Man and Beast along the way. Old House Direnni led by Cygnus made a home at the foot of the Adamantine and took in the tribes of Men to their high rock zero and made wives of them. Where the Manmer were born a caste was made between Mer, Manmer, and Man. In the Deathlands the House of Corelanya, who did worship Daedra as folk there so often did, made a home keeping mostly to themselves. In the great, green woods known as Valen where Mer, Man, Beast, Goblin, and Fey are all embraced. The golden Aldmeri Kingdom of Alinor and the wooded Bosmeri Tribes establish relations that will last as long as Tamriel for better or for worse. The grey wizard clans who settled Vvardenfell were never heard from again, but when Mer reestablished contact with the region thy found the Dwemer Dwarves in their stead. Dotting the northeastern underground were others would find ash and snow, working on their magics uninhibited by their neighbors.
  3. Auridon worshippers of Ancestor, Ancient, and Starlight made a colony in the Heartland of Tamriel as a client state to Alinor. They built a Tower of White and Gold and so made a Kingdom of their own of bronze skin and alien Ehlnofic ways called Aylied. They, like Bosmer, where of many tribe, clan, and kingdom but united under the banners of Imperial White and Gold. The Ayleids were the cruelest of masters to their subjects, especially Nedic Men, and so made sport and art of their bones. Another dissident culture to the Summerset was that of the Prophet Veloth and his silver Chimer North Elves.
  4. Elder Trinimac saw his children flee and war and he had had enough. Where the Dragon’s holy knight commanded that the Mer mourn their fallen forefathers and foremothers they instead turn to daemons and infighting. The final chord was struck when Veloth denied Trinimac in the face of all summer and followed Moon-and-Star across Tamri-El to where flame reached highest. Trinimac then rallied his faithful against the shattering crystal. He called to sands, snows, summer and stars and they came in droves for the last ancestor. In a field of battle lost to known time somewhere between Hegathe and Resdayn Holy-Knight Trinimac stood before Rebel-Prophet Veloth and made an exchange of Nym, Tone, Song, and Prophecy. Words of truth that can only be seen by three angles.
  5. Ur-Dra. Boethiah then did make herself manifest as the world turns on new stars. She lurched forward from behind Veloth and took the Knight into her maw between words and projected him into Pado-Meridian. Spilled blood of the final Aedra made for the last Aldmer to be split thrice. Those who drank of the blood to honor the night became as chrome. Those who wore the blood to honor the father became as orichalc. Those who saw the blood mist turn to ash and could do nothing about it became as gold. The new Chimer did praise the names of Azurah, Mephala, and Boethiah and become strict ascetics relinquishing the decadence of their kin and embracing hardship to find a new home at the foot of Red Mountain. They drove out the Men and pursued Daedra whether they see them as good or bad and warred with Dwarves in a culture they called High Velothi.
  6. All of Goblin blood bid march unto their god which they’ve been waiting for since they became diaspora. They’ve known him by all number of names where Mer knew him as one. From West and South the Orcs cried Mauloch the Mountain Storm, and hailed the new City Orcs as their own, along with Wood, Iron, and Ice they united as the Orsimer. Pariah. Rebel. Other. From the West still the Giant Ken did cry Malooc the Horde King. From the north the Riekr-kin cried out to Morkey the Father. From the East unknown hosts cry out to Kamal the Snow Demon. From the south the Ogres marched and cried out Morkha the Ashen Chief. And from the four winds all manner of Goblin-Ken, massive, minuscule, ancient, new, deformed and mystic came and cried to Malak Darkfey. Then where Boethiah once stood the charred bones of old Trinimac stood anew as Malacath, who forever wages war on the night.
  7. The black skinned Empire of westward Mer did then clash with the Men of the Dune Mother’s charge as the world turns once more. The largest kingdom of Mer fell by the hands of their own subjects and nomadic raiders who called themselves by the name for the land they just seized, Yokudan. Mirroring the victory of their northern kin they built a kingdom of manifold people; Equestrian Nomads, Bird Cults, Nomadic Warlords, Bladed Saints, Pirate Kingdoms, and Desert Madmen. Traits held steadfast in the hearts and minds of all Yoku Men for they all follow the Tall Papa who commanded they wander in walkabout. These rivaling kings and gods did then sunder the lands between themselves for the Yoku their is no distinction between war and faith.
  8. Mer and Man fighting to the north, west, east, and south of them is where the Thrassian Worm-Toads made their stand, or squat rather. For that is all their fat bodies would allow them to do. Because of this they needed spellcraft, and traded any thing or one in exchange for it to Masters known and otherwise. Namira, Sithis’ faithful. Vaermina, guide and mirage. Molag-Bal, Father of Dreugh and Worm. Crystalline Jyggalag and his other. Vile Clavicus. Hermaeus, Secret teacher of Julianos. Chief of all is Prince Peryite the mock Dragon. Taskmaster of rats did beckon unto the slovenly Sload and bequeathed what he named “blessings for mortality”. The necromancers did meditate on this for a millennia as is their way and amassed their hosts of bones while Man and Mer see that each other’s blood feeds the great ancestors.
  9. From their midst, in the dust of battle, rose a tribe unlike those before. Not of the Yokeda Horse Lords, nor Totambu Imperial, nor the multitudinous kingdoms between. Rogue mages, warriors, and thieves sang a Dirge called Hira which disturbed Ruptga so that he was forced to send his firstborn Al-Leki to sing a Song called Pankrato. All the Djinn and Abatwa and Willoki did burrow, fly, and flee lest they be swallowed by the now trembling sands beneath them displaced by the hunger of two-fold Serpents. Rustfall. Cavalry bedu drove into the sea. Hira sing themselves into liquid tombs guarded by mermaids where Dragons even forget they spoke at all.
40.Men of kingdoms Totambu, Yathi, Ra Gada, Anka Ra, Sataki, Banthan, Tavan and countless others gathered their histories and horses and set to walkabout the earth once more on the decks of a fleet unrivaled. They passed over Thrassian spires of Coral and bone. Feeding the dead legions as much as cutting them down. The Yoku knew they could make no home here among bloated monsters and the desiccated and desecrated remains of generations and civilizations untold, and so left the Sload as quickly as they had made landfall. The Sload saw what Men had done to their land in the west and this shook the avarice Worms with dread. They remember the Adjacent lands and knew the river of time had carved its way to the Coral Kingdom for they are privy to those kinds of secrets.
  1. The sun hangs over the heart of Thras at a Tower known as Coral ignited with unholy flame while morning strikes Tamriel. The New Coral Kings upon necrotic thrones did take heed to the words of Peryite they decising on who to bless. A slow and cerebral people would take a millennium to come to such a decision. Awaiting Firefall. Elsewhere a great north wind blows as the spilling of innocent blood in totality, blowing with the ferocity of all the gales and howls of a Drake. Ysgrammor made it back to the last Jarldom of Atmora and rallied five-hundred angry swords and fiery tongues to mount an assault on the Falmer for the Night of Tears. He called Azhidal the Clever man, Jeek of the Jorvaskr, and Myrfwiil the shadow-scout to name a few. Then they sailed southward.
  2. Upon their Return the Nords laid siege to the Mer with such force of strength and voice that not even any Falmeri structures remain today except maybe in the mythic Forgotten Vale. Shattered like glass. The rest were driven east to Solstheim or underground with Dwarves. Upon Solstheim is where the Falmeri civilization made its final stand with their sovereign the Snow Prince, a near religious figure. They stood and fell where they did and for this they honored their Prince with a burial dedicated to the kings of Men amid enchanted ice and snow. The Nords took the land they now call Skyrim and made it their own alongside their Dragon Gods.
  3. The Dovah Drakes and their angelic matriarchs held far reaching influence among mortal hearts. They flew as far south to the sweetened waters of Niben and made a cult among the Khajiit as well as Men. They knew of Alduin called al-Khan but this cult worshipped the spirit of the Time God himself called al-Kosh. They sought to follow their gods and prophets to the moons from a broken Tower stolen from Giants. Their were falsehoods in the lunar court of al-Kosh and so the legendary Khunzar-Ri sealed the silver worms beneath the halls of their ill-gotten. This was indeed the age of Khajiiti heroes for at this same mythic age came Raijhin, Trickster, Liar, Thief of Thieves. He would go on to outshine the Baan Dar and steal from the very shadow of Nocturnal herself and earn her favor.
  4. As one Drake fell so another fell as the Nords began to wage war against the sky tyrants once one of their own names Miraak took to the dragon’s blood for himself and claimed Solstheim for his own. It was a hard fought war but a just one as the plight of Men under Dragon rule and their dark priesthoods had dissuaded Dragons from the very sky to fight other Dragons. Their king was purged atop the Snow-Throat and so the first Kingdom of Man on Tamriel is established. The line of Ysgramor had thus introduced the runes so that w may remember these great heroes and villains and prevent their stories from being corrupted. However to a Nord words are like water and will flow in many forms and the mind remembers it.
  5. The Dwemer of the Deep had long since stretched the reach of their freeholds and clans and city-states from the mountains of Wrothgar to the Isle of Vvardenfell. The Chimer on the other hand through constant warfare with the Dwemer as well as tribal infighting caused them to dissolve into a wayward people of the ash. The advanced warcraft and Magicka practices of the Dwarves only being matched by their cousins of the Summset. Where the Deep Folk build airships to travel, golems to fight, and a Tower to ascend the traditional Aldmeri progeny develop Sunbirds to sail the Oblivion night into the divine shores of Aetherius in the hopes of carving a passage of escaping Mundus for Merkind.
  6. The cruel masters of the White and Gomd came to a game as in their civilization. Though they all and forever will revere the Ge of Magna the Ayliedoon Altmeri rallied behind two kings who championed their contenting Gods. Around the City the greatest temple to the Aedric divines rallied the worshippers of the Eight called Barseabics and dug into the earth for their Empire had turned to the Daedric Princes for patronage and power. Lo the Aedra are mighty they do yet slumber amid mortality and cannot stand for their champions where Daedric favored are granted wisdom and relics that may lay waste to civilizations, and lay waste they did. The Atatarics pushed to Barseabics out in the Narfinsel Schism. Pushed them all the way east to a land of banished slaves, beastial horrors, and Velothi savages.
  7. In the absence of Draconic or Merrish rulers the Men of the North be they Nord or Kreath or Nede then did unify in their reverance of Shor, Kyne, and the eternal Sovngarde. Men of the South where manifold, but less fortunate. To the west all but the Witches of the Reach took on Elvan spouses and so bred the Nedes from High Rock. Leaving only the slave called Breton under the hegemony of Clan Direnni. Western still the warrior nomads of al-Ghema and al-Hared who live among Hegathi Khajiit warring with Corelanya and Aylied alike. The Men of Ket called Keptu who would often escape to the Reach. Tribes Horwalli and Yerpest gathered by the Barseabics to build new cities amid dense wood and muck. Men of the Green escaping slavers were welcomed with open hearts and homes into the tribes Bosmeri. They perhaps took to the trees better than the native Mer becoming the arboreal tribes of Imga.
  8. A Man like no other before or after him did walk the lands at this time. He had a thousand names and even more titles, but to the Nords he was Ysmir Whitestrake. His flesh was as cold steel. His arm as scorpion. His heart as crystal blood. His hair as silver. His eyes far reaching. This ancient soul did wander among Men fighting their Elven lords and bequeathing the land unto them when he left to start again. He fought alongside northlanders against the Folk of Ice and Snow. He fought with deathlanders against Mer and Magnus. He fought with woodlanders to ensure their safe passage to new lands. Now he comes to the Heartland where he fights along a tribe called Sedor numbered a thousand, but outnumbered a thousand to one and emerged victorious only to roam again. Crusade.
  9. Recorded time begins as the Valenwood is being united under reign of the High King Camoran Eplear. Kingdoms and tribes have long ruled the southern jungles but never before had a mainland region been so unified under the rule of a single sovreign. Everywhere else fought between tribe and clan, but the Camorans established strength in their taming the wilds and wisdom in their eternal bond with the Silvenar and his Green Lady. Be they Man, Mer, Orc, Satyr, or Centaur all are welcome in Camoran’s Kingdom so long as they respect the Green of his land. And so marks the first year of the First Era. The break of Dawn.
  10. The Starry Heart of Dawn’s Beauty where the spirit of Nirn sleeps and dreams of change.

Psalm 119:25; The Hebrew Letter of Daleth, The Psalmist Soul's Bondage
The Psalmist is struggling between his soul's bondage to earthly things and his inner insight of spiritual inclinations; his soul cleaves to worldly desires, and his heart melts with heaviness in the next 8 verses. The Psalmist’s heart craves influence from the divine word. In the next few verses, the conflict finds resolve when the word in the heart arouses the soul to prayer. In these next 8 verses of Psalm 119:25-32, each begins with the Hebrew letter of Daleth, the fourth in the Hebrew alphabet.
Verse 25: Depressed to the dust is my soul: quicken thou me according to thy word.
The Psalmist is struggling between his soul's bondage to earthly things and his inner insight of spiritual inclinations; his soul cleaves to worldly desires, and his heart melts with heaviness, engulfed by cries for enlightenment in a body that is a spiritual prison dominated by his inherited Adamic nature. The Psalmist’ heart craves influence from the divine word, lamenting the morning darkness of the unredeemed mind. The conflict finds resolve when the word in the heart arouses the soul to prayer.
Charles Spurgeon applies the synonyms for the acronym relating to Daleth in part that he was overwhelmed by sorrow and grief. “it sings of Depression, in the spirit of Devotion, Determination, and Dependence.”
[i] Recorded from the treasury of David, we find these eight verses of this description of the alphabetic arrangement by Theodore Kübler.
ü Verse 25. Depressed to the dust is my soul: quicken thou me according to thy word.
ü Verse 26. Declared have I (to thee) my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
ü Verse 27. Declare thou to me the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
ü Verse 28. Dropping is my soul for heaviness: strengthen thou me according to unto thy word.
ü Verse 29. Deceitful ways remove from me and grant me thy law graciously.
ü Verse 30. Determined have I upon the way of truth; thy judgments have I laid before me.
ü Verse 31. Deliberately I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.
ü Verse 32. Day by day I will run the way of thy commandments when thou shalt enlarge my heart. —
As we move through these 8 verses, we are smart to remember that the worldly person finds his greatest joy cleaving to the things of the world. That is Satan’s curse upon the unredeemed. The Serpent’s curses, upon him as he creeps close to the earth all the days of his life, but even for the unredeemed, their weary soul may find refreshment in the living word of God.

Psalm 119 verse 24 Looks to the Living Word for Counsel
Psalm 119:24: Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.
The chief goal of biblical counsel should be through the application of God’s Word and its confirmation by God’s Spirit in the heart of a believer, however, this was near impossible before Christ's propitiation and the gift of God’s Spirit to indwell the newly reconciled believer. The Psalmist states that his constant study of the Scriptures is his delight. They are fortified in his soul by the profundity of the Spirits course correction as the Spirit reeducates the flesh-trained mind, bringing it into an agreement with the new nature. However, the Psalmist seems to be struggling between his soul's bondage to earthly things and his inner insight of spiritual inclinations; his soul cleaves to worldly desires, and his heart melts with heaviness. This is the natural proclivity of the person yet to be indwelt by the Spirit of God, who is still dealing with the impact of their corrupted nature that was modified by Adam’s addition of the knowledge of evil to the good that God had created in him. Even the Apostle Paul struggled with this spiritual war between the unrenewed mind and his new nature. He writes in Romans 7:13-25 about the beginning of the process, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring his mind into an agreement with the new nature of Christ that was placed in him when he accepted the propitiation of Christ as his own.
Therefore, did what is good cause my death? Absolutely not! On the contrary, sin, in order to be recognized as sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become sinful beyond measure. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am made out of flesh, sold into sin’s power. 15 For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it. 19 For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but it is the sin that lives in me. 21 So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me. 22 For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God’s law. 23 But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.” (HCSB)
Because all new Christians struggle with this transformation, Paul writes in Colossians 3:10; Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. (NLT)

Psalm 119 22 to 23 Dealing with Undeserved reproach
Psalm 119:22: Remove from me reproach and contempt, For I have kept Your testimonies.
Undeserved reproach or open contempt are painful things to sensitive minds of those in Christ, just as it must have been for the Psalmist who treasured the Lord’s testimonies. Although Jesus said in John 15:18-19: "If the world hates you, understand that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.” (CSB) The innocent may justly ask to be cleared from reproach, however, if there is any truth in the alleged charges then asking Him to protect us against them is not justice. If we have forsaken His divine testimony in fear of human reproach, then we have no right to ask for God’s safety. Luke 12:8; "And I say to you, anyone who acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.” (CSB)
A godly countenance is our best security to retain a good name, for reproach will not remain against those who walk closely with Christ, neither will contempt persist against those who remain faithful to the testimonies of our Lord. The psalmist testifies that his conscience assures him of this fact. The fact that he dares to boldly appeal to his God is his proof that he does not deserve these charges of insincerity or suffer for hypocrisy.
Psalm 119:23: Princes also sit and speak against me, But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
If David is the author of this Psalm as many believe, then this verse would have applied to him many times over, but it was also applicable to many others since there is nothing in the construct of the psalm that would limit it to David. It is however evident, that the author of the psalm had been subject to reproach from those who were of higher rank or status; and his writing makes it clear that he was keenly aware of this fact. For the godly person, it is natural to be sensitive to false accusations of wicked men, but especially troublesome when those with greater authority speak against us. Solomon addressed this in Proverbs 16:14; “A king's fury is a messenger of death, but a wise person appeases it.” (CSB)
Compiler’s note: Great caution must be taken when attempting to appease unrighteous criticism of God’s Word by those with more status than ourselves. On this side of the cross, we have God’s indwelling Spirit to counsel us. He reveals the truth of God’s Word to those who are His own. The most vocal critics of God’s word are usually those that are the most ignorant of its contents. Our failure to take a firm stand on God’s Word may cause a weaker brother to stumble since every error in spiritual matters is more plausible to the unrenewed mind than the revealed truth.

Psalm 119 18-21 Open My Eyes So That I May Perceive Your Wonderful Truths
Psalm 119:18: Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.
Perhaps the Psalmist has in mind Balaam the son of Beor, an oracle of God who fell into sin, but not before Balaam heard and saw a vision from the Almighty. The phrase “to open my eyes” is from the Hebrew word that means the same as to “uncover;” that is, take away from the eyes what has become a distraction, preventing clear spiritual vision. The Old Testament illustrates this in Numbers 24:15-16 where it speaks of Balaam, caught up by an oracle from God.
The Psalmist prays that he also might see wondrous things that are not seen with flesh trained eyes, Paul addresses this in 2nd Corinthians 4:18; “So, we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (CSB) The psalmist asks for spiritual insight into things that are secret or hidden from the common view; he knows by experience that these things in the Word of God have deep, spiritual meaning. They often go unnoticed by our natural vision and readers may only see the mere surface, but to see the deep and hidden meaning we need the special influence of God’s Holy Spirit.
On this side of the cross of Christ, we are privileged to have His Holy Spirit indwell us. We read in 1st Corinthians 2:12-15; “Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. 13 We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. 14 But the person without the Spirit does not receive what comes from God's Spirit because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually. 15 The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone. (CSBBible)
He believed that there were such truths hidden in the wonders of God and he desired to see them. Today we have the written Word and the blessing of a new and better covenant. The inspired Word is used by God’s Spirit to testify to all that our God has revealed to humanity. Through His Spirit, by prayer, we often receive special revelation from God and His Spirit is necessary for born-again people to perceive the things intended for God’s children. How do we know that they are God’s truths? They must align with the written Word.
Psalm 119:19: I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me.
The psalmist recognizes that his status on this earth is quite separate from those that live apart from obedience to the law and are adhering to worldly ways. His citizenship is held in heaven and he claims to be an alien resident on earth. His attitude is reminiscent of Jesus words as He was praying for His disciples in John 17:5 (that is also for you and me if we are His disciples); “I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.” (that is why His word provides Armor, Eph.6:11+). Then in verses 16 and 17 Jesus said; “they do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.”
Do not hide Your commandments from me; that they may be continually before me as I reside among foreigners to your word, may they bring comfort as they guide me along the path of righteousness.
Psalm 119:20: My soul breaks with longing For Your judgments at all times.
Born-again Christians, whose minds are continually in the process of being renewed, is a similar thing that had happened to the psalmist through the dictates of God’s law, rather than by His Spirit who speaks God’s truth from the word directly to our soul,[our mind intellect and will]; which is often inclined to seek the pleasures of this world rather than God’s will, and yet, for us on this side of the cross, the Spirits words grate against our natural-born inclinations as He works to bring our mind into an agreement with the Word. To the Psalmist, perhaps, it was not the possession of the knowledge of God that exhausted him; rather, it was his deep-seated and longing desire to know more of God intimately.
We are so blessed on this side of the cross to have the written word and God’s Spirit to guide us. We read David’s statement in Psalm 17:15. “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.”
Psalm 119:21; You rebuke the proud; the cursed, Who stray from Your commandments.
Our Lord rebukes the proud and those arrogant enough to mock believers. Have encountered their threats, the psalmist believes that they are motivated to do so by the conviction of His word. Just as God rebuked Pharaoh with the plagues of Egypt, the pride-filled ungodly will be humiliated where they stand. As He did in the end with Pharaoh, God will often use the laws of nature to humble His adversaries, it is the humble heart that will yield to God’s will. God rebukes pride for he sees in it, rebellion against his own majesty, which is the sum of all sin. Proud people are hard-pressed to realize their own ignorant condition of being under the wrath of God.
Compiler’s Note: In warning people about the coming wrath of God, I have been accused of being a “Fear-Monger”. But you must decide for yourself if God’s word means what it says. I read in Colossians 3:6; “Because of these, God's wrath is coming upon the disobedient.” And in Romans 1:18: “For God's wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth,” followed by Romans 2:5; “Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment is revealed.” And even reaching back into the Old Testament, we read in Proverbs 16:5; “Everyone with a proud heart is detestable to the LORD.” We read back in Psalm 101:5; “I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor; I cannot tolerate anyone with haughty eyes or an arrogant heart”. Psalm 119:17 begins with GIMEL; the 3rd alphanumeric letter in the Hebrew alphabet and then in the next 7 verses, where the psalmist pleads as a servant and a pilgrim and progressively finds himself to be a stranger behind enemy lines. His appeal is to God alone, and his prayer is specifically direct and personal. He speaks with the Lord as a man speaks with his friend.
Verse 17 reads, Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word.
He takes pleasure in retaining his accountability to God and counts it all as joy, privileged to be in the service of his God. The prayer of this verse shows that it is only through God’s divine and bountiful grace that we can live as faithful servants of God in this life, and manifest obedience to his commands. It is a prayer for abundance based on God’s mercy and not on the Psalmist efforts. He is praying that God will bless him as a wage according to the Lord’s goodness, and not according to the psalmist merit. That his bountiful reward comes to him according to the largeness of God’s abundance, and not according to the insufficiency of his service.
Observing the Word of God should be the great objective of any life, but the Psalmist realizes that he cannot, by his own reason or sense begin to penetrate the profundities of God’s decrees in the Holy Writ, therefore he cries out for help in keeping God’s word .
The psalmist recognizes that without abundant mercy he could not live a life pleasing to our God. We are by nature blind to the things of God until His Spirit opens our eyes and we begin to see things from a new and godly perspective.
Even life itself is a gift of divine mercy to such rebellious people born as we are, in a state of condemnation. It is His prevenient grace which preserves us and saves us to a new life from the one that we have forfeited by our own willful sin, in compliance with our inherited sin nature. The continuance of the most useful life is owing only to God's Grace, and for that, we must have a continual dependence.
It is right to desire to live and it is appropriate for us to pray to live but not to just prolong a life of rebellion and sin, rather, to live a life ascribed to the favor of God, walking in the new way of the Spirit. And we should pray to live for even more opportunities to keep and share God's word.

Psalm 119:14; I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.
This is the correct course of the Christian in studying the Word of God, it is accomplished by a sustainable delight in the Word and that ensures that it is the positive effect of our new nature that becomes life cleansing. The Psalmist’s rejoicing had not only arisen from the word of God but out of the practical application of it.
When we are enabled by His Spirit, we should rejoice more in Him than if we had gained great financial wealth. Just as people of the world rejoice when they have come into sudden great wealth, Christians should find our happiness in service to our King and faithfully store up treasures in heaven, for we have inherited great wealth in Him. We read in Proverbs 10:22 what the child of God is already experiencing; The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow to it.
Psalm 119:15-16: I will meditate on Your precepts and contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
I have rejoiced in the way of Your commandments, as much as if all the riches of this world had been laid at my feet. The Christian’s soul can rest easy knowing that in this true religious relationship there are unsearchable riches of Christ. So, the Psalmist can look forward with a spiritual resolve that his faith is sustained by God’s holy word if he stays the course.
On this side of the Cross, we read in 2nd Corinthians 11:12; “But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours. Those that have found pleasure in the ways of God are more likely to proceed and persevere in them.” (NLT)
The trials of godly living appear to be evident and fresh in the Psalmist's mind as he entreats our Lord in prayer for the help that will meet his circumstance with divine intervention. As in the last eight verses, he prayed as a youth that has become newly cognizant of our Creator.

Psalm 119 verses 10 to 13 For out of our heart, we should speak only God’s truth
Psalm 119:10-11: With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!
The fatal defect of all our attempts at keeping our heart clean by our own watchfulness is that the keeper and kept are one and the same. Repent and be reconciled. Many people believe that this verse only means that Scripture should be memorized. Dr. McGee writes in “Through the Bible”,[i] “I think memorizing God’s Word is a wonderful thing, but some of the meanest little brats I have seen in Sunday school were the ones who could stand up and quote one hundred verses of Scripture. When the psalmist wrote, “Thy word have I hid in my heart,” I think he meant, “I will obey it.”
The psalmist in Psalm 40:8 was aware of his inability to stay the course and not wander from God’s holy word apart from keeping it deeply buried within his heart; “I delight to do Your will, my God; Your instruction lives within me.” In Christ we have His Spirit, reminding us all that Jesus has said, especially, if we remain diligent in storing up the word of God. Our salvation does not come without effort. We read in Matthew 16:24; “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.’” And the inverse is captured in Luke 14:27: “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple”. Jesus continues discussing the cost of following Him (HCSB)
For Christians, the act of taking up our cross and following Christ demands our obedience. The Bible says that we show our love for Jesus by obeying Him in all things: Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). We read in Luke 6:45-46: “A good man produces good out of the good storeroom of his heart. An evil man produces evil out of the evil storeroom, for his mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. 46 ‘Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things I say?’” (HCSB)
Today, we are called to obey the “law of Christ,” which is a law of love according to Galatians 6:2: “Carry one another’s burdens; in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ”; and John 13:34-35; “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. 35 By this, all people will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another.” (HCSB) Jesus went on to state that the greatest command of all is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the greatest and most important command. 39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.” (Matthew 22:37-40 HCSB)
Psalm 119:12: Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes!
Sacred are you oh Lord {Yahovah} blessed is the author of such divine morality. The Psalmist implores God to be His teacher and instruct him in the ways of His righteousness so that his heart and conscience might endeavor to make good use of the knowledge God has given him, and therefore increase it so that He may achieve a level of spirituality following the acceptable standards and statutes of God’s Law. The more that a Christian understands the precepts and principles of God's holy will, the more we desire to learn the way of compliant sanctification.
Psalm 119:13: With my lips, I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.
What is revealed to us in the Word, is that we are to proclaim to all who will listen, that which God has revealed by His pattern of many past judgments, as well as those predicted in His prophetic Word! They often are made clearer with the progression of time. When we gain a clear understanding and are released by His Spirit, it is our duty to repeat the exact echoes of His infallible voice that speaks to our mind. There are certain judgments of the Lord which he will reveal to the man of His Word and a person of prayer. It would be shameful for us to conceal God’s plan and His purpose if it has been revealed to us. Confronting shortcomings is an effectual way to aid and participate in the Spirits cleansing of the fallen person. By teaching we learn; by training, we tame the tongue to use holy speech, by familiarity with the divine Word of God, we are to share our delight in His righteousness. Above all, we must be careful to guard our speech and with our lips declare the truth of God’s Word with others, unambiguously, in clarity, with a firm, cognitive, Scriptural explanation. For out of the abundance of our heart, we should speak only God’s truth to all our companions, however, we must be prepared to openly and publicly defend God’s message in our common discourse.
The Psalmist’s prayer back in verse 12 was that God would teach him His statutes and here he extends the plea Lord, I have endeavored to make good use of the knowledge which you have entrusted to me, therefore increase it. I think the psalmist unknowingly, is reaching ahead to the days of Christ, where Jesus said in Luke 12:48: “. . . Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more, will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more.” (HCSB)

The second letter sequence in Psalm 119 is --- BETH
Psalm 119:9; How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.
One thing that every young person should take the time to learn about in the turmoil of today’s world, is the Word of God. They are taught everything else in school except the biblical truths. The freedom of Religion pendulum has swung too far to the left and it is now held up as “freedom from religion”. Even though it is against the law to teach the Bible in school, as Christians, we are still obliged to get the Word of God to them.
Again, in the Hebrew letter Beth, all of the verses begin with this second letter of that alphabet and the BETH passages extend to Psalm 119:16. What does it mean when this verse asks, “how can a young man “cleanse his way?” Foremost, it indicates a state of inquiry where the subject is pondering the question, how he can be protected from the corruption and deception of his own heart, escaping the temptations to which he was exposed to earlier, and continue on the way to leading a pure and God-pleasing life. There can be no more comprehensive answer than what is stated in this one verse.
All the precepts of ancient and modern wisdom, all the teachings of pagan morality and religion, and all the results of the experience of mankind could furnish nothing in addition to what is already suggested here. The worldly precepts about humanity's ability to please God have no validity apart from what is recorded in the Word of God and rendered as a guide for Christianity. This passage is addressed especially to the person young in Christ because those of us who have walked with Christ for any length of time are guided by His Spirit, the matter is already settled by experience.
The solution as to “how can a young Christian be cleansed, making the course of their lives as pure and upright is answered succinctly in the phrase “By taking heed according to Your word.
Because of their inexperience, the immature in Christ must commence learning about how to live on a godly trajectory, to them, the path is indeed ambiguous. There are so many other points in their unresolved future that they are apt to put aside the consideration of Spiritual sanctification and cleansing in favor of that which seem to be of more immediate and critical importance. The question that most often comes to the mind of every young person who has a godly desire to seek the proper path of righteousness now is confronted by the dangers which impede their success and it must be overwhelming. For the phrase has a particular reference to the future. Before the Cross, the issue was complex, how a person could be reconciled to God must have seemed very perplexing; especially without His indwelling course-correcting Holy Spirit -- Who alone, can make their future pure, and by what principles they should adopt that would guide them along that path of assurance. On this side of the cross, we are blessed to have His Holy Spirit indwelling us and acting as a spiritual guide as He renews our flesh trained mind and brings it into an agreement with God’s holy word. The person under the Old Covenant of Law had to govern themselves according to the Law of God, but on this side of the cross, our goal is to remain cleansed as we walk and are governed according to the law of the Spirit. Romans 8:2 “because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.”

Psalm 119:7-8; I will praise You with uprightness of heart, I will keep Your statutes.
Psalm 119:7: I will praise You with uprightness of heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.
The Scriptures will incite singing, thanksgiving, rejoicing, and praise without a trace of hypocrisy when a decision is based on God's justice. Herein lays the truth about thoroughly studying His Word; the more that we learn about God and about His righteous judgments, the more that we are predisposed to praise him. By the accumulation of personal experience with our Savior, the more that we are inclined to magnify His Name. The name of our God incarnate is recorded in Revelation 19:13 “He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is the Word of God”. This designation is also corroborated in John 1:1; therefore, The next time you pick up your Bible, remember who it is that you are handling.
Psalm 119:8: I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!
Those who walk in the New way of the Spirit, are undefiled, sincere, and blameless in the way that they conduct their lives as they walk according to the course correction of His Spirit, guided by the statues of His Word, we are blessed and not forsaken. On this side of the Cross, the Spirit writes through Paul’s pen in Romans 7:6: “But now we have been released from the [Penalty of the] law since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old letter of the law.” (HCSB)
We began this study of Psalm 119 with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Aleph. Under each of the 22 Letters are eight verses that are complicit with the contemplation of the blessedness which comes by keeping the statutes of the Lord. In the next segment, we will look at the 8 verses connected to the 2nd letter, BETH.
